TRUST IN GOD'S STRENGTH

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. – Psalm 20:7

Can you name the top five world powers? You can most likely put them together by listening to the news. They are the nations jockeying for economic position and pressing for dominance. Each of them could stop life on Earth with the push of a button, yet the tension between them also serves as a hold that keeps the world safe much of the time.

In your spiritual life, power comes from one place, God! He is the inexhaustible source of all life and salvation. His power is complete, and nothing exists that He does not have authority over. Yet today, you may feel challenged by something seemingly small in comparison to His size, but mighty at the same time – a habit, a relationship, a financial obligation.

Like living in the richest country on Earth yet not having enough change for the parking meter, it is hard to equate your everyday life with the all-encompassing nature of God’s strength.

When Jesus left Earth, He told His followers to wait and they would soon receive everything they needed to carry on His good work. Indeed, the Holy Spirit arrived, enlivening their hearts and minds, bringing understanding, and directing them to accomplish His desires. Do you genuinely desire God’s solution to your challenges today? The same Spirit of wisdom to know God and to discern His path is ready to help you. Just ask and believe.
