Bridge Of Hope

Who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.       –   1 Peter 1:21

The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Northern Ireland, spans sixty-six feet and is suspended ninety-eight feet above the rocky coast. Tourists pay £13.50 to test their bravery and walk across the bridge. Some will not even look down as they trek across the wooden planks. On the other side is a tiny island where fishermen used to fish for salmon. Tourists click pictures and then return back across the bridge. To go across, a person has to believe that the bridge is trustworthy. The National Trust invested £16,000 in 2008 to construct the current bridge to ensure its safety.

Jesus is the bridge to heaven. He is far more trustworthy than a bridge built with rope and wood.

Christ fulfilled over three hundred prophecies, performed miracles, and taught with authority, and His prophecies will all come true. God raised Jesus from the dead and gave Him glory as it says in the verse.

If you want to draw near to God, you must come to Him by the bridge He provided.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

Jesus is the sure hope of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. He is the reason believers can trust in His loving care and call themselves children of God. Give thanks to the Father for accepting you as His child through Jesus.
