The Holy City- Our new home

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also, there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Revelation 21:1-4

I love Revelation 21 and 22 who can read it and not have Joy unspeakable? Amen!

God loves you so much that He will take you in His arms and wipe away the tears from your face.

Think about this: His are the very hands that created the heavens and the earth. They are the hands that brought healing to the sick, and vision to the blind. They are the hands that were nailed to a cross for the sake of our sins. Yet these hands are tender enough to wipe the tears from your eyes. That's how loving God is! He loves you and wants a relationship with you. I can't help but think of

2 Corinthians 5:17:

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

Can you not wait for the day when He makes all things new? I mean, as Christians, we have been made new through the blood of Jesus, but there's still sin around. Someday (soon!) all things -- including sin and pain -- will pass away, and we who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ will be in His presence for eternity.

The other beautiful thing is He prepares the new Holy City and adorns it like a bride prepared for her husband. The Lord takes time in preparing the New City the way a bride takes time on her wedding day. It is never a bad hair day and her husband never forgets as she walks down to the alter to betroth her love to the man to say to the world I love him and he loves me and his banner over me is love. He covers me in prayer and takes care of me and my house forever.
