Second rapture in the Bible

Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven riding on a chariot of fire. He was fully prepared to be taken. His ministry marked the beginning of the end of Baal worship in Israel.

Just like the rapture of the Church will mark the beginning of the end of human history, as we know it!

We don’t know whether Elijah was aware that he would ascend to heaven in such a spectacular manner, but all we know is that two groups of prophets and Elisha, his protege, knew all about it. God must have shown them in prophecy what God was about to do with Elijah. Before Elijah was taken, God instructed Him to go to Bethel, Jericho, and his final destination - the Jordan River, which means "descend". When they were beside the river, he folded his cloak and struck the water with it. The river divided, and the two, Elijah and Elisha, went across on dry ground!

Right after this, he was taken away in the most spectacular way!!

This is the foreshadowing of what's coming up. Jordan means "descend", the horses speak of power and speed. The chariot speaks of protection and triumph. The whole being “of fire” speaks of glory. So Jesus will descend to take His Church speedily, triumphantly into the glories of heaven!! He will descend to help us pass over from earth to heaven.

God has just a few last stops for us in our journey, let's listen and obey before we "pass over"!!

AMEN
