Let's pursue the things of God, let's pursue the power of God; let's pursue an anointing of the Spirit of God. Chuck Smith
the devil loves prayerless preaching.
The reason you are to study prophecy is not to satisfy your curiosity. You study prophecy in order to learn how to function & live now while we wait for Christ's return.

Christ will never leave you that are his, nor forsake you. I know not to commend you to one so loving; he lived in love, he in our natures died for love. George Swinnock
Humility is the light of understanding. John Bunyan
We shall never be clothed with the righteousness of Christ except we first know assuredly that we have no righteousness of our own. John Calvin Faith is like an empty, open hand stretched out towards God, with nothing to offer and everything to recieve. John Calvin
Our method of proclaiming salvation is this: to point out to every heart the loving Lamb who died for us, and although He was the Son of God, offered Himself for our sins by the preaching of His blood, and of His love unto death, even the death of the cross. Nicolaus Zinzendorf I am, as ever, a poor sinner, a captive of eternal love, running by the side of His triumphal chariot, and I have no desire to be anything else as long as I live. Nicolaus Zinzendorf I trust in the Lord God Almighty that he will not take away from me the cup of his redemption, but firmly hope to drink from it today in his kingdom. Jan Hus Rejoice, that the immortal God is born, so that mortal men may live in eternity. Jan Hus Faithful Christian, seek the truth, listen to the truth, learn the truth, love the truth, tell the truth, learn the truth, defend the truth even to death. Jan Hus A simple layman armed with Scripture is greater than the mightiest pope without it. Martin Luther I admit that I deserve death and Hell What of it? For I know One who suffered and made satisfaction on my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God, and where He is there I shall be also! Martin Luther Pray, and let God worry. Martin Luther The sin underneath all our sins is to trust the lie of the serpent that we cannot trust the love and grace of Christ and must take matters into our own hands. Martin Luther I'll trust in God's unchanging Word, till soul and body sever. For though all things pass away, His Word shall stand forever. Martin Luther I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess. Martin Luther Lord Jesus, You are my righteousness, I am your sin. You took on you what was mine; yet set on me what was yours. You became what you were not, that I might become what I was not. Martin Luther From the beginning of my Reformation I have asked God to send me neither dreams, nor visions, nor angels, but to give me the right understanding of His Word, the Holy Scriptures; for as long as I have God's Word, I know that I am walking in His way Martin Luther We need to hear the Gospel every day, because we forget it every day. Martin Luther
Lord Jesus, You are my righteousness, I am your sin. You took on you what was mine; yet set on me what was yours. You became what you were not, that I might become what I was not. Martin Luther
He hath given me rest by His sorrow, and life by His death. John Bunyan
Our sins, when laid upon Christ, were yet personally ours, not his; so his righteousness, when put upon us, is yet personally his, not ours. John Bunyan If we have not quiet in our minds, outward comfort will do no more for us than a golden slipper on a gouty foot. John Bunyan Time is short. Eternity is long. Charles Spurgeon
When God places a burden upon you, He places His arms underneath you. Charles Spurgeon The sweetest prayers God ever hears are the groans and sighs of those who have no hope in anything but his love. Charles Spurgeon
God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart. When you are so weak that you cannot do much more than cry, you coin diamonds with both your eyes. Charles Spurgeon My faith rests not in what I am, or shall be, or feel, or know, but in what Christ is, in what he has done, and in what he is doing for me. Charles Spurgeon God knows your case as thoroughly as if you were the only creature he ever made, or the only saint he ever loved. Approach him and be at peace. Charles Spurgeon You may fear that the Lord has passed you by, but it is not so: he who counts the stars, and calls them by their names, is in no danger of forgetting his own children. Charles Spurgeon Be of good cheer, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole. John Bunyan
Prayer is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the soul to God, through Christ, in the strength and assistance of the Spirit, for such things as God has promised. John Bunyan He that is down needs fear no fall. He that is low, he that is humble, ever shall have God to be his guide. John Bunyan Humility is the light of understanding. John Bunyan No child of God sins to that degree as to make himself incapable of forgiveness. John Bunyan
To seek yourself in this world is to be lost; and to be humble is to be exalted. John Bunyan Afflictions make the heart more deep, more experimental, more knowing and profound, and so, more able to hold, to contain, and beat more. John Bunyan
Whatever contradicts the Word of God should be instantly resisted as diabolical. John Bunyan Great grace and small gifts are better than great gifts and no grace. John Bunyan The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and they that lack the beginning have neither middle nor end. John Bunyan What God says is best, is best, though all the men in the world are against it. John Bunyan If people really see that Christ has removed the fear of punishment from them by taking it into Himself, they won't do whatever they want, they'll do whatever He wants. John Bunyan
No man, without trials and temptations, can attain a true understanding of the Holy Scriptures. John Bunyan Pray and read, read and pray; for a little from God is better than a great deal from men. John Bunyan The difference between true and false repentance lies in this: the man who truly repents cries out against his heart; but the other, as Eve, against the serpent, or something else. John Bunyan The reason why the Christians in this day are at such a loss as to some things is that they are contented with what comes from man's mouth, without searching and kneeling before God to know of Him the truth of things. John Bunyan In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart. John Bunyan You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed. Pray often, for prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge to Satan. John Bunyan Seeking to perpetuate one's name on earth is like writing on the sand by the seashore; to be perpetual it must be written on eternal shores. Dwight L. Moody The law stops every man's mouth. God will have a man humble himself down on his face before Him, with not a word to say for himself. Then God will speak to him, when he owns that he is a sinner, and gets rid of all his own righteousness. Dwight L. Moody
My friends, look to Christ, and not to yourselves. That is what is the matter with a great many sinners; instead of looking to Christ, they are looking at the bite of sin. Dwight L. Moody I am glad there are things in the Bible I do not understand. If I could take that book up and read it as I would any other book, I might think I could write a book like that. Dwight L. Moody Remember, a small light will do a great deal when it is in a very dark place. Dwight L. Moody God is absolutely, infinitely, eternally perfect, in himself and all his glorious properties, so that nothing can be added unto him. His end therefore must be, not the obtaining of glory unto himself, but the manifestation of the glory that is in himself. John Owen Would you be free from the condemnation of the sins that are past, from the power of the temptations that are to come? Then take your stand on the Rock of Ages. Let death, let the grave, let the judgment come, the victory is Christ's and yours through Him. Dwight L. Moody The great power of God appears in bringing a sinner from his low state, from the depths of sin and misery, to such an exalted state of holiness and happiness. Jonathan Edwards God has in Himself all power to defend you, all wisdom to direct you, all mercy to pardon you, and all happiness to crown you. Thomas Brooks Christ will never leave you that are his, nor forsake you. I know not to commend you to one so loving; he lived in love, he in our natures died for love. George Swinnock The Lord will gather his faithful people into the peace of his kingdom. He will wipe the tears from their eyes, will crown them with glory, clothe them with gladness, satisfy them with the endless sweetness of his favours and raise them to where he is on high. John Calvin No doctrine is more excellent, or necessary to be preached and studied, than Jesus Christ, and him crucified! John Flavel I also saw, moreover, that it was not my good frame of heart that made my righteousness better, nor yet my bad frame that made my righteousness worse, for my righteousness was Jesus Christ himself. He same yesterday, today, and forever." John Bunyan
Consider this Christians, that of all men, you have least cause, yea, no cause, to be murmuring under any dispensation that you meet with in this world. Is not God your portion? Is not Christ your treasure? Is not Heaven your inheritance? And will you murmur? Thomas Brooks
Be always at it whilst you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you. John Owen In Christ, God's face shines out, full of grace and gentleness to us poor, unworthy sinners. John Calvin
When a man is not deeply convicted of sin, it is a pretty sure sign that he has not truly repented. Experience has taught me that men who have very slight conviction of sin sooner or later lapse back into their old life. Dwight L. Moody I cannot convert men; I can only proclaim the Gospel. Dwight L. Moody God has two thrones, on in the highest heavens, the other in the lowliest heart. Dwight L. Moody Character is what a man is in the dark. Dwight L. Moody We ought to see the face of God every morning before we see the face of man. Dwight L. Moody I never saw a fruit-bearing Christian who was not a student of the Bible. Dwight L. Moody A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian... and most of all, his family ought to know. Dwight L. Moody
The Scriptures were not given to increase our knowledge, but to change our lives. Dwight L. Moody Be humble, or you'll stumble. Dwight L. Moody The measure of a man is not how many servants he has but how many men he serves. Dwight L. Moody
Spread out your petition before God, and then say, "Thy will, not mine, be done." The sweetest lesson I have learned in God's school is to let the Lord choose for me. Dwight L. Moody Real true faith is man's weakness leaning on God's strength. Dwight L. Moody Some people think God does not like to be troubled with our constant coming and asking. The way to trouble God is not to come at all. Dwight L. Moody Take courage. We walk in the wilderness today and in the Promised Land tomorrow. Dwight L. Moody Whatever you love more than God is your idol. Dwight L. Moody
Repentance toward God, faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, holiness of heart and life, habits of real private prayer, love and reverence toward God's Word - these are the real proofs of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in a soul. Where he is, these marks will be seen. J.C. Ryle As a dead man cannot inherit an estate, no more can a dead soul inherit Heaven. The soul must be resurrected in Christ. Dwight L. Moody
If you can't see His way past the tears, trust His heart. Dwight L. Moody You can always tell when a man is a great ways from God he is always talking about himself, how good he is. But the moment he sees God by the eye of faith, he is down on his knees, and, like Job, he cries, "Behold I am vile. Dwight L. Moody What we want is to be real. Let us not appear to be more than we are. Let us be real; that is the delight of God. God wants us to be real men and women, and if we profess to be what we are not, God knows all about us. God hates sham. Dwight L. Moody Death may be the King of terrors... but Jesus is the King of kings! Dwight L. Moody God had no children too weak, but a great many too strong to make use of. Dwight L. Moody If a man gets drunk and goes out and breaks his leg so that it must be amputated, God will forgive him if he asks it, but he will have to hop around on one leg all his life. Dwight L. Moody A great many people are trying to make peace, but that has already been done. God has not left it for us to do; all we have to do is to enter into it. Dwight L. Moody To be tempted is not to sin. The strongest attacks are made on the strongest forts. Dwight L. Moody Lust is the devil's counterfeit for love. There is nothing more beautiful on earth than a pure love and there is nothing so blighting as lust. Dwight L. Moody God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without trial. Dwight L. Moody We may not be able to do any great thing; but if each of us will do something, however small it may be, a good deal will be accomplised for God. Dwight L. Moody Sometimes when your child talks, your friends cannot understand what he says; but the mother understands very well. So if our prayer comes from the heart, God understands our language. Dwight L. Moody The voice of sin is loud, but the voice of forgiveness is louder. Dwight L. Moody David was the last one we would have chosen to fight the giant, but he was chosen of God. Dwight L. Moody If you have so much business to attend to that you have no time to pray, depend upon it that you have more business on hand than God ever intended you should have. Dwight L. Moody The Valley of the Shadow of Death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light. He has overcome death. Dwight L. Moody There is no true prayer without confession. As long as we have unconfessed sin in our soul, we are not going to have power with God in prayer. He says if we regard iniquity in our hearts, He will not hear us, much less answer. Dwight L. Moody I would rather a thousand times be five minutes at the feet of Christ than listen a lifetime to all the wise men in the world. Dwight L. Moody Use me then, my Saviour for whatever purpose and whatever way thou mayest require. Here is my poor heart, and empty vessel; fill it with Thy Grace. Dwight L. Moody

It is not about what I want but what God wants for me. The will of God is always greater than the cost. Jesus always sought to do his father's will. For us, it is not knowing God’s will it’s doing it. We must die to ourselves.
We often talk about being unequally yoked in relation to unbelievers but we can be unequally yoked with a believer as well. Yes, our common bond is Christ but our anointing is so important and the lack of understanding can hinder what God wants to do in our lives.
God wants us to experience the beauty of being drawn to Him by a cord stronger than the obligation & guilt of legalism.
Chuck Smith
The act of prayer teaches us our unworthiness, which is a very salutary lesson for proud people like us. If God gave us favors without constraining us to pray for them, we would never know how poor we are, but a true prayer is an inventory of wants, a catalog of necessities, a revelation of hidden poverty.

Keep running in your lane. We are listening for the applause of heaven, not the fears in our own hearts, or the critics of humanity. Those who have made the greatest impact were not those who just said something or felt something, but those who kept doing the one thing. Run with laser focus, run with an enduring heart, run with joy. Anchored by grace, and propelled by love.
Whether it is at home, at work, at school, in your city, in your marriage, with your kids, what attitude you choose to live with as a single, how you drive, or where you feel stuck..
Answer the call today not to give up, not to give in, not to get away. We run not just to make it to a place, but because we have experienced a person. JESUS
Your reach will always be determined by how you run... Keep Running, disrupting earthly patterns with kingdom rhythms....
God uses closed doors to advance his cause! God closed the womb of a young Sarah so he could display his power to the elderly one. He shut the palace door on Moses the prince so he could open shackles through Moses the liberator. And Jesus…yes, even Jesus knew the challenge of a blocked door. When he requested a path that bypassed the cross, God said no. God said no to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane so he could say yes to us at the gates of heaven.
God’s goal is people. He will stir up a storm to display his power. He’ll place you in prison so you’ll talk to the jailer. It’s not that our plans are bad but that God’s plans are always better. Your blocked door doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you. Quite the opposite. It’s proof that he does.
Don't look to culture for cues on how to succeed in marriage. Look to a reliable source: the Word of God. The Bible tells us everything we need to know about how to have a strong and lasting marriage.
Whenever we're focused on Jesus, and bringing our thoughts and activities under His authority, we're right in the center of what God says life is all about. And it doesn't matter whether we're driving to work, completing a list of chores on the weekend, reading a Bible story to our children, or discussing a particular section of Scripture with a friend -- everything we say and do is to be placed under His Lordship and direction. Unfortunately, those of us who fail to make Jesus Christ preeminent and Lord over lives are out of focus with God's eternal purpose.
Life is filled with trouble. It seems as though once you have one problem resolved, three more take its place. As Job 5:7 says, “People are born for trouble as readily as sparks fly up from a fire” (NLT). From the moment we come into this life, there are all kinds of troubles.
There are times in our lives when things happen that we just don’t understand. When I don’t understand something about God, I try to always fall back on what I do understand.
While there are reasons to be troubled in this world, there is a greater reason to not to be. Greg Laurie
In his book, Why Grace Changes Everything, Pastor Chuck Smith wrote, “God has a special work for each of us to do and it is necessary that all of us be prepared for that work. Many of us will spend the majority of our lives in preparation…We may be going through difficult trials, but hardships are necessary. God wants to develop in us the characteristics that will enable us to fulfill His plan for us.”
