"God doesn't want something from us. He simply wants us."— C.S. Lewis
“The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.”— C.S. Lewis

Anxiety is not only a pain which we must ask God to assuage,” C.S. Lewis said, “but also a weakness we must ask Him to pardon – for He’s told us to take no care for the morrow.”
The opposite of living a Spirit-filled life is living a worldly one. Paul put it this way: “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things” (verse 5 NLT). This describes people who only think about satisfying their impulses and the appetites of their flesh, but they never think about spiritual things.
The pathway from panic to peace
is prayer.
Turn your panic into prayers and the peace of God will be in you. Pray rejoicing in the One who is infinitely happy!
Sometimes we aren't caught so blatantly, but eventually, our sins will find us out. There are consequences. When God tells us not to behave in certain ways, He’s not out to ruin our fun. He knows what will lead to healthy, fruitful lives, and what will wreak destruction.
The best way to stop going backward in your walk with Christ is to keep moving forward. This is not a works-based righteousness. Rather, it’s a working righteousness. And the way to do it is with the help of the Holy Spirit.
If you’re a spiritual person, then you’ll naturally want to do spiritual things. For instance, some people get up in the morning and make spending time with God a priority. While they’re driving, they might listen to a Christian radio station, worship music, or a Bible study podcast. They attend church regularly and are even involved in a small group.
Love requires that you pray for those most in need of salvation.
Most of us have at least one hater in our lives. People who chose to be difficult and mean no matter how much grace, peace, hope, and love are offered and even with years of effort. They’re hard to forgive. Hard to tolerate. Hard to pray for. And yet, that’s our commandment from the Lord!
Truth destroys walls.
Does it feel to you as if God requires polite conversation? Like you can’t bring your real mess, real emotions, real questions, real doubts before Him in all sincerity and raw truth? Imagine today that Jesus is just waiting to hear your authentic heart and is calling you to be intimately real with Him.
God sees us for what we will become, not just what we are. We see the past; God sees the future. We see the end; God sees a new beginning.
A Spirit-led believer lives a condemnation-free life.
The sweetest joys and delights I have experienced, have not been those that have arisen from a hope of my own good estate, but in a direct view of the glorious things of the gospel... I felt an ardency of soul to be, what I know not otherwise how to express... to be full of Christ alone; to love Him with a holy and pure love; to trust in Him; to live upon Him; to serve and follow Him.
~ Jonathan Edwards
Christianity is never only the mental assent of faith in Jesus, without requiring the lived attachment, trusting faithfulness to Jesus.
Christians are those who turn. We are faithful followers who keep turning and turning, to be faithful trusters.
"OUR CONCERN SHOULDN'T BE WHO THE HYPOCRITES ARE IN CHURCH. OUR CONCERN SHOULD BE WHETHER WE'RE ONE OF THEM OURSELVES."
"IF YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT WITH YOUR SPOUSE, DON'T WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO IMITATE IT, WOULD BE EMBARRASSED IF THE CHURCH KNEW ABOUT IT, WOULD LOSE CREDIBILITY IF IT WAS SHARED WITH YOUR BOSS, AND CAN'T ASK THE LORD TO BLESS IT, THEN YOU SHOULDNT DO IT!"

Modern Christianity has been watered down until the solution is so weak that if it were poison it would not hurt anyone, and if it were medicine it would not cure anyone! A.W. Tozer
Those who say "If you become a Christian, all your troubles will be over" have no clue what true Christianity is. It’s only when we become Christians that the real war begins.
It is a destructive addition to add anything to Christ Richard Sibbes In a storm there is no shelter like the wings of God. Thomas Brooks
We are all scared about losing what we love. It’s good to be honest about our fear of loss. We just need to remember that even when we fear, when we’re sad, and when we’re heartbroken, our Lord will not just get us through, he will heal us, bind up our wounds, and carry us home.
The gospel doesn't change, nor does our need for it.
Beware of men who have no authentic accountability and of men who say they are accountable only to God and not to men.
The church’s goal is not to make unbelievers feel comfortable and non-threatening. On the contrary, it is to make them feel uncomfortable with their sins and threatened by God’s judgment and the terrors of hell that they face. —John MacArthur

Christ is continually presenting His completed sacrifice to the Father as the sufficient basis for the bestowal of pardoning grace. He is constantly applying His sacrificial work, and making it effective in the justification and sanctification of sinners. —Louis Berkhof, ST 358
