One of the best things we can do when we are suffering is to help someone else. Maybe that doesn’t seem to make sense. But it actually makes all the sense in the world. It can be very easy to have a pity party, to draw back into our little cocoons and isolate ourselves from everyone else. But if we will go out and help other people, we will find comfort as we are distributing it.

The Lord is near. No matter what is going on in your life right now, He is present. So close. He will never leave your side. Are you listening for His quiet whisper? Are you watching for His goodness and kindness?
Through the promises of God, all who believe can experience spiritual rest. Initially, those who believe enjoy rest from the guilt and condemnation of sin. Additionally, those whose faith embraces other promises from God can enjoy rest from carnal striving and worldly indulgence.
When the Lord comes into our lives He cleans us up. We don't stay the same. The true sign and wonders of a Christ-centered life are right-living.
We can have great certainty concerning the fulfillment of God's promises because grace and faith are the foundation of our assurance. "Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace so that the promise might be sure to all the seed." Grace is the heavenly resource behind all of God's promises. Faith is the simple means of accessing that grace.
Sometimes our blind spots keep our life bright and shiny. When it comes to our blind spots maybe our brains aren't compensating, maybe they're protecting us.

Things to remember, When you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). There is no condemnation in Jesus (Romans 8:1). He forgives and cleanses (1 John 1:9). God loves you (1 John 3:1). He has your best interest at heart (Jeremiah 29:11). He will teach you (John 14:26). He will give you wisdom when you ask for it (James 1:5). You hear His voice when you read His Word (Romans 10:17).
We need to turn our lives over to the Spirit of God, yield to Him, and let Him do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

A Cure for the High and Mighty
God doesn’t dislike arrogance…he hates it. Could he state it any clearer than Proverbs 8:13: “I hate pride and arrogance.” And then a few chapters later it says God can’t stomach arrogance or pretense. Believe me, he’ll put those upstarts in their place. You don’t want God to do that. It’s far wiser to descend the mountain than fall from it!
Pursue humility. Humility doesn’t mean you think less of yourself but that you think of yourself less. Paul described it in Romans 12:3, “Don’t cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself or your importance, but try to have a sane estimate of your capabilities by the light of the faith that God has given to you.” God has a cure for the high and mighty: come down from the mountain before he employs it. You’ll be amazed what you hear and who you see. And you’ll breathe a whole lot easier!
