The way to Heaven is ascending; we must be content to travel uphill, though it is hard and tiresome, and contrary to the natural bias of our flesh.
~Jonathan Edwards~
The great attraction of heaven will not be its pearly gates, its golden streets, nor its choirs of angels, but it will be Christ.
You are as much serving God in training your own children, as you would be if you lead an army to battle for the Lord.
God is well pleased when all our actions proceed from love, love to himself, and love to immortal souls. - George Whitefield
Knowing Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, who gives us eternal life should cause us to be persistent followers. Do not be easily dissuaded or discouraged by others who have left following Him. Some may think you are foolish for following Him, but be persistent; do not give up. Even if you fall down––make mistakes, stumble and sin––repent and get back up.
True faith rests upon the character of God and asks no further proof than the moral perfections of the One who cannot lie.

Cling to the Cross. No matter what is going on in your life today, the answer is “cling to the Cross”. Jesus came and paid for you. Personally. So no matter what you are enduring, know that Jesus is with you, for you, He loves you, He will never leave you, and the Cross is the proof of His unfailing love.
Tolerating a religious spirit produces a double injury: it blocks the flow of God’s love to others and from us.
We cannot postpone showing love and mercy to the lost, waiting until someone changes. That’s not what Jesus does. He’s the excellent Shepherd who, after making sure the flock is safe, goes out and pursues the lost one with love and kindness.
Whatever God is, Christ is. Every likeness of God, the very Godhead of Godhead, the very Deity of Deity, is in Christ Jesus.
~C.H. Spurgeon~
Don’t listen to the naysayers. Don’t listen to anything but His voice. We are blind to the future, but Jesus isn’t and His plans are good. Trust!
Only by being both deity and humanity could Jesus Christ bridge the gap between where God is.
~David Jeremiah~
God the Father was a divine witness of His Son. Jesus was a Man accredited by God. Jesus said to the Pharisees who opposed him: “I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me” (John 8:18). Jesus was accredited by God, not man.
Are you hiding or do you let yourself get completely naked with God? He doesn’t want you to walk around with shame, so let it go!
Depend on it, my hearer, you never will go to heaven unless you are prepared to worship Jesus Christ as God.
~C.H. Spurgeon~
Listen to what Jesus told the Pharisees, those who constantly questioned Him to try to trap Him with His words: “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world” (John 8:23). Why were the Jews infuriated with Him? Jesus revealed His divinity and His preexistence to them: “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). He declared He was God, the great I Am (Exodus 3:14). Hearing this, the Pharisees took up stones to stone Him.
Faith comes into our lives through the work of Jesus Christ: "Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). Faith develops in our hearts when the name of the Lord is revealed to us (that is, an understanding of who Jesus is and what He is able to do).
Jesus is the faithful and true witness, who gives us the reliable truth that we must have in order to find life and live life as God intended. "Jesus Christ, the faithful witness…the Faithful and True Witness…And He…was called Faithful and True" (Revelation 1:5; 3:14; and 19:11). Faith toward Him develops in our lives, as we see His faithful and true character. His word is a vital part of this process since it has the same character that He has (faithful and true).
If we are to grow in grace, we must live by faith. "Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace" (Romans 4:16). If our faith is to develop and mature, we must know where faith comes from. Jesus (and His word) is the source of our faith. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Hebrews 12:2 and Romans 10:17)
As we walk by faith, God's grace is imparted into our lives, bringing us many blessings in our Lord. We have seen that among these heavenly delights are the assurance of salvation and security of salvation. "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life…who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" (1 John 5:13 and 1 Peter 1:5).
Assurance of salvation pertains to the certainty that we actually are saved. Another related work of God's grace is the security of salvation through faith. Security of salvation pertains to the certainty that we will remain saved.
