QUOTES

In the substitution that took place on the cross, we see the glorious grace of God—the very heartbeat of the Christian faith. R.C. Sproul

"Walking with God requires that you break from the crowd." -Steven Lawson.

Better to have a hard will and a soft heart than a soft will and a hard heart -Leonard Ravenhill - Unless our 'Bible study' is conforming us, both inwardly and outwardly to the image of Christ, it profits us not. -A.W. Pink

At Jesus' trial, Peter denied knowing Him. After the crucifixion, Peter hid in fear. But just weeks later—and right up to his death—he boldly and publicly proclaimed his faith. What caused this radical change? Find out on Truth For Life with Alistair Begg:

"Prayer strikes the winning blow; service is simply picking up the pieces." - S. D. Gordon

If we do not abide in prayer, we will abide in temptation. -John Owen

When a sinful desire gains the will, it also prejudices the understanding -Jonathan Edwards

"Do not look at your look. Look at Christ." –– R. Kent Hughes on John 3:14-15.

"If Christ was not raised, His death was in vain. Your faith in Him would be pointless, and your sins would still be counted against you with no hope of a spiritual life." (John MacArthur) Jesus lives, so hope lives. Jesus lives, so joy lives. Jesus lives, so love lives. Jesus lives, so freedom lives. Jesus lives, so victory lives. Jesus lives, so we can live. The tomb is empty, but you can be full of the life of Christ.

"Obedience to God's command is always right." —Alistair Begg

"O to love God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind, and with all our strength: that is what the law required, it is what the gospel enables us to render." - Charles Spurgeon "The Lord Jesus himself is the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for the sheep, the Great Shepherd who is brought again from the dead, and the Chief Shepherd under whom he has appointed shepherds to watch for the souls of men." - Charles Spurgeon "We must never so evangelize the outside mass as to forget to fold and feed those within." - Charles Spurgeon

Everyone who is "in Christ," through faith in His name, is a "new creation." We are new people. We are no longer who we were before we put our trust in the Lord Jesus. We are not the "old man" reformed or improved, we are a "new creation."

"Our one instrument as fishers for Christ is the gospel of the grace of God." - Charles Spurgeon

"Only in the cross of Christ will we receive power when we are powerless. We will find strength when we are weak. We will experience hope when our situation is hopeless. Only in the cross is there peace for our troubled hearts." — Michael Youssef

Spiritual maturity is one of the heavenly blessings that is ours "in Christ Jesus." Our heavenly Father desires that all of His children develop in this blessing of maturity: "that we may present every man perfect [mature] in Christ Jesus." As God's people are being built up, the goal is that "we all come…to a perfect [mature] man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children…but… may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ" (Ephesians 4:13-15). Jesus is our standard of spiritual maturity. The Lord wants us to be maturing into the likeness of the character of Christ.

How to deal with the temptation of sexual immorality? It's not passive (look but don't act); rather Paul tells us to be aggressive -- "flee". Get out of there! Run from it and don't look back. All too often I see Christians who place themselves in potentially disastrous positions because they fail to follow Paul's simple instructions. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

Let us strive to be grounded in our faith, seeking guidance from God's Word and the teachings we have received. By doing so, we will be empowered to face life's challenges and serve as a light to others, demonstrating the transformative power of God's love.
