Jesus answered Pilate, "My kingdom is not of this world".
He did not come as a conquering King to defeat Rome, but as a suffering Servant to defeat Satan, sin, death, and hell.
The King of Kings came as a man to reconcile humanity to God!
Even as Israel fervently sought a king to rescue them politically and liberate them on a national and cultural level, what they truly required was to be saved SPIRITUALLY! Jesus made it very clear to Pilate that He was indeed a King, but His kingdom was not political and did not pose a threat to earthly rulers. He did not come to conquer Rome with armies and swords; otherwise, His followers would have fought for Him, and He had twelve legions of angels at His disposal! His heavenly Kingdom will stand on the foundation of His sacrificial offering on the Cross, His precious blood shed for the redemption of the entire world!
Jesus came to destroy Satan's spiritual authority over the earth and over humanity. He came to destroy his works and crush his head as prophesied in Genesis. He came to claim victory over Satan's realm. He came to utterly demolish Satan, sin, death, and hell - FOREVER!! While His kingdom is not OF this world, the Lord’s kingdom is most certainly IN this world.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Ro 14:17).
The church and the Holy Spirit are exercising authority over this world and impacting it - and will continue to do so until Jesus takes us out of this world in the rapture. He will keep His Church from the judgment of God, the 7-year tribulation - the most horrific time the world will ever know!
After this, He will be back again for the second time to judge the nations and set up His Kingdom, as King of kings and Lord of lords of this world over the whole earth are you looking today for a political "King" who can turn things around in this nation and this world - so you can get back to your prosperity days If so, you're looking for the Antichrist and you are going to find him soon!
