MARTHA, MARTHA, MARTHA

"Martha, Martha, you're worried and troubled about many things!" Let's focus on what really matters - Jesus! We might be doing 'good things' but distracted from the 'best' - His presence.

Let's put aside our anxiety and trouble today! Nothing is more important than Him! Look up! Martha and Mary are two sisters who were close friends of Jesus, and their interactions with Him shows their contrasting personalities and perspectives.

When Jesus comes to visit their home, Martha is extremely busy with all the preparations - there is no doubt she is going above and beyond to give Jesus a great feast - but she's so frustrated, that she asked Jesus to do something about Mary not willing to help her out.

Mary, on the other hand, is at the feet of Jesus hearing His word - Jesus said, "She has chosen the good part and it will not be taken away from her".

Jesus in love corrects Martha and He recognizes her and her struggle. He sees that she is anxious and troubled and that her troubles are self-inflicted. Jesus isn't only telling Martha that Mary is doing better - He is aware of Marhta's needs and is inviting her to join in what Mary has chosen - but He's not going to sacrifice Mary's needs so Martha can fulfill her "social expectations".

Jesus knows our struggle. He knows we're worried and anxious about our "social expectations" or responsibilities at the Church, with family, with work - He knows - He sees it, and He's just inviting us to allow Him to carry that burden - as we chose to rest at His feet, enjoying His presence and His Word.

Time is limited, and we shouldn't worry about fitting into the mold of social life. Some of these expectations are self-inflicted, while others are set up by the enemy. Let's focus on what really matters - Jesus is coming, and this world is temporary and external. We need to stop worrying about the social aspects of this life and choose Jesus instead! We should sit at His feet, listen to Him, and not be swayed by the world, the enemy, or our own thoughts.

Let's turn off the distractions of this world and tune in to Jesus. He's finishing His work in all of us, and we need this time with Him before we're taken away. This is the most important thing we can do!

Let's continue to look up!! He's coming soon and quickly!

It's time to believe in Jesus and lay your burdens of worries and frustrations upon the cross.

Believe that He died for your sins, was buried and resurrected for you to have eternal life!! He's coming soon for His Church!! He will take you out of this sinful, depraved world into His Kingdom of glory!!

Accept Him today! Luke 10:40-41
