Jesus Is The Victory Over__________

1Corintheans 10:12-13

12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Satin attacks us from many avenues and directions. He loves to tell you, you are not worthy, that God has not forgiven you, and so on.

When the devil tempted Jesus for forty days and nights the bible says The Spirit led him but Jesus is the Son Of God who used the word of God.

Matthew 4:1-11 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." 4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands, they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'" 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

The Bible further says in Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

Hebrews 4:15 Says Christ was tempted in all like passions that we are. So there is no temptation common to man. 1Corintheans 10:13

And because we have the Holy Spirit in us, provided by Christ as it is written in John 14, Jesus said, 15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

The way of escape is not a door or window but through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit which has come to lead us, guide us, and teach us.

John 16:13 says 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

All we have to do is submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7-10

But because we have free will, God will not violate it so we must do our part and resist temptation. It is not enough to submit to God because of our sinful nature. 1 John 2:16 says our source to the body for temptation is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.

James 1 says when we are tempted, 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Satin's sole purpose is to John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. Even to the point that in the last days, even God's very elect will be deceived. Matthew 24:24

the bible says there are two paths; Matthew 7:13-14 13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

One is wide and one is narrow. It is a choice we make. Joshua told the children of Israel to choose who they were going to serve and he said as for me and my house we will serve the Lord, Joshua 24:15.

The Children of Israel made a covenant with God and Joshua and in the very next book, the book of Judges they are dealing with sin and captivity because of idolatry.

In 1Corintheans 6:11-13 Paul tells them that they are not restricted by the apostles but by their own affections.

In other words, we have liberty in Christ but if you are an alcoholic don't go into bars, don't let your freedom become a snare to you.

Paul in Romans 7 confronts this and concludes that in him dwells no good thing and it is Christ who can only save him.

J Vernon McGee says it like this, we are being, and we will be saved.

Another way to put it is I am justified, being sanctified until I am glorified.

So we live and walk by faith and faith comes by HEARING AND HEARING BY the word Romans 10:17

and God will establish and guard our hearts 2The.3:3 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

The Holy Spirit enables us to make the right choice. It's time to put off the old man and live right and victorious in Christ as we are crucified with Him.

Loving God Under Trials

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
