IN CHRIST WE HAVE HOPE

If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

1 Corinthians 15:19

Life can become daunting when you are unable to count on promises that were made yesterday to be fulfilled tomorrow.

In the physical world, time marches forward linearly, but not so in the spiritual realm. In God’s Kingdom, the past is connected to the present and the future and it is all eternally linked together by a cross.

Biblical writers went to great lengths to help readers understand the infinite nature of God’s salvation. It was foretold across history and recorded in the Old Testament.

When Jesus came on the scene, God’s promises were revealed and brought to life. Christ conquered death and, through His sacrifice, now offers all who believe the certain hope to inherit God’s promise of eternal life with Him in paradise.

The writer of Hebrews makes sure everyone realizes hope in Christ is for all time, not just today. “We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once and for all” (Hebrews 10:10).

Paul highlights the scope of God’s salvation, “I am sure neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord“ (Romans 8:38-39).
