DANIEL 70 WEEKS

God gave Daniel a prophecy for Israel:

70 weeks to restore and build Jerusalem.

69 weeks have passed from that command until Jesus. The 70th week would be the 7-year Tribulation. The church wasn't present in the 69 weeks and it won't be present during the 70th week!

The 70 weeks have nothing to do with the Gentiles or the Church. This prophecy concerns only Daniel's people - the Jews and Jerusalem. When Jesus was "cut off" and crucified, He put an end to sin and brought reconciliation for our iniquity, so we could be reconciled to God. So sin has been paid in full through the blood of Christ - for those who believe in Jesus. But the Jews didn't and still don't believe in Him; they rejected/reject their Messiah, so they are still not reconciled with God. For this very reason, God needs to go back to deal with them after He removes us, His Church, from this world since we have already been reconciled with God.

Israel needs to be saved as a nation; it needs to be restored, and God needs to put an end to their transgression. Jerusalem needs to be rebuilt so He can reign and rule the nations from there during the Millennial kingdom. He appointed the 7-year tribulation to complete His purpose with Israel.

In 22 chapters in the book of Revelation, the Church is only mentioned in the first 3 chapters and at the end of chapter 22 which is Jesus talking to the Churches as the final warning.

The church wasn't present in the 69 weeks and it won't be present during the 70th week! The Church is not going through the tribulation. Not halfway, not all the way. We are not appointed to wrath we're saved from it!

Daniel 9:24-27

24 “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.

26 And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week, But in the middle of the week, He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”
