Be strong and of good courage

When God says to Joshua "Be strong and of good courage" at that very moment God is creating a special anointing in Joshua and equipping Him with what he needs. He's not telling Joshua to not be a coward. Just like when God spoke, “Let there be light”; and there was light. The Israelites had been wandering in the desert for forty years after God had delivered them from slavery in Egypt under the leadership of Moses. God had promised them the land of Canaan as their inheritance, but they needed to conquer it first.

After the death of Moses God spoke these words to Joshua: "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them." (Joshua 1: 5-6)

God's words to Joshua were not simply a pep talk or a motivational speech. They were a prophetic declaration of what God was going to do in and through Joshua. God's anointing and equipping were going to enable Joshua to accomplish great things for God's kingdom. In a sense, it was like when God spoke, "Let there be light"; and there was light. Just as God's words had the power to create something out of nothing, His words to Joshua had the power to create in him the qualities and abilities he needed to succeed. God's anointing was not just a vague spiritual concept, but a tangible reality that enabled Joshua to accomplish what he was created to do. It was Joshua's genesis!

The story of Joshua teaches us that the same creative power that He unleashed over Joshua He unleashes over us. We were created for a specific purpose and He will give us what we need to accomplish it. Like Joshua, we may face challenges and difficulties along the way, but we can take heart that God's never-ending-creative power of His word is over our lives, creating our path and enabling us to accomplish His purpose.

Allow God to speak salvation over your life so you can have faith and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and resurrected on the third day, so we can have eternal life with Him.

The moment you believe in Him and that He died for your sins - you're saved, justified, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready!

The Holy Spirit will come to live inside of you - He will help you, guide you, change you, and be with you FOREVER!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
