The Daughter of King Jehoram to Hide Joash’s Son

2 Kings 11

Just as the House of Judah was in bondage under Queen Atalayah for 6 years, but in the 7th year, God raised Joash as a King, preserving the lineage of David!

He is preserving us to raise us on that very day - the day of resurrection/rapture! Keep looking up!

This story is pretty fascinating!

2 Kings 11 For six years, the ruler of Judah was the self-proclaimed dark-hearted Queen Athaliah, mother of Ahaziah. She sought to eradicate any chance of the heirs of David regaining control She killed her way to the top, becoming the Queen of Judah and ruling for long six years. '

What she failed to realize was that not only did God plan to preserve David’s lineage, but her days were numbered—though it did drag on for years. During her killing spree, God guided the daughter of King Jehoram to hide Joash’s son from the slaughter. And indeed, he was spared and lived hidden from a baby to 7 years of age in the Temple.

The priests took care of him, and the hiding spot was absolutely perfect because someone like Athaliah, a pagan, would never set foot in the Temple of God. At the perfect moment, the priest who had helped conceal the rightful heir, Joash, revealed his plan and presented this young leader in the temple before the people, declaring him the true King from the line of David.

The coup happened precisely during the changing of the guards’ shifts, with two major groups of men protecting the new King. Brilliant timing!

Revealing the King’s son was a dramatic moment, leaving the people stunned. They had endured the tyranny of the evil Queen with no hope of change. As far as they knew, the entire royal lineage had been wiped out.

The coup not only ended the evil queen’s reign but also revived a covenant between God and His people, overlooked for over a century. With renewed hope, the people zealously destroyed the temple of Baal, smashing its altars and eliminating the priest who presided over the horrifying worship.

God has been hiding and preserving us in His own presence for years, ever since we were born again as infants cradled in His hands—similar to how Jehosheba preserved Joash. Though we've felt trapped in our personal circumstances, at the perfect time, He will raise us for His own glory! We are the rightful heirs of His Kingdom!

Renew your hope!

Be thankful today!

As our six years (6,000) come to an end, hold on tight and remain in His hiding place—His presence—until His perfect time!

Keep looking up, for then we will come to tear down Baal's temple!

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

I Thess: 4:16-17
