“People have often asked me, ‘What is the secret of your success?’ I always answer that I have no other secret but this, that I have preached the gospel.” — Charles Spurgeon
it's fine to ask why as long as you don't expect an answer.
Better to cry out in anguish to God than to turn from Him in anger.
God does not promise smooth sailing, but He did promise a safe passage. In Christ.
Listen, it's better to be in a storm with Jesus than anywhere else without Him.
Or in a fiery furnace—just ask Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego.
Or in a lion's den—just ask Daniel.
Or in a prison—just ask Peter.
Or in a storm again or even shipwrecked—just ask Paul.
Day by day, our perspective is to include a rejection of any life that we could produce on our own ("deny himself"). We are to agree with God that the self life always deserves the cross of Christ ("take up his cross daily"). This leaves us with only one option: pursue after Jesus for the life He alone can provide ("and follow Me").
If you cannot make the world completely pious, then do what you can.
~Martin Luther~
Even your toughest struggles in life can be turned into your greatest triumphs.
Through our weakness, He makes us strong. Through our dying, He makes us alive. Through our wounds, He makes us whole.
To be like Jesus is to please the Father and abandoning self, having compassion, putting others first, serving not being served.
Jimmy O Keef
The person who wants to serve God, the one who is serious about his or her faith, is trouble as far as the devil is concerned.
We need to remember that Satan's single ambition is to turn you and me away from God and all that is good. His ultimate agenda is summed up in a statement Jesus made: "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy" (John 10:10). And the two primary ways the devil will attack are outwardly and inwardly.
At the church I attend, every leadership meeting starts in prayer; is interrupted regularly with prayer; and always concludes in prayer. I've been to meetings in which we have had significant differences of opinion. Invariably we stop and give the discussion over to the Lord, asking for His intercession and leadership. If you are having conflict in your small group, ministry, or household, ask the question: Who is in charge, man or the Lord? Will you give leadership and decision making over to the Lord?
Faithfulness knows no difference between small and great duties.
~John Ruskin~
Sometimes the Lord will lead us differently from where we would like to go. But what we must come to recognize is that the will of God is perfect, and we should never be afraid of it.
Reverent fear of God is the key to faithfulness
in any situation.
~Alan Redpath~
We have rest, salvation, blessings, and a home in heaven—and we did nothing to earn any of it.
As earthen vessels, we are to live by trusting in the treasure (the Lord Jesus) who dwells within us: "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels" (2 Corinthians 4:7). Also, we are to give Him all honor and glory as He sustains us day by day through the trials of life: "that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us." In addition, to help us magnify the treasure who lives in us, there is to be an attitude (an outlook) carried about (embraced) by the earthen vessels.
The biggest problem in the church is the body thinking the church is the building and not the individuals who go to the building!
There are too many of us who claim to follow Christ, but are more concerned with our comfort than the Kingdom. I can look you in the eye and tell you that I believe that Jesus is the only thing that will satisfy my soul, but if I'm honest, I'm addicted to comfort.
There is a lot of "self-help" going on in the Christian world these days. Friends, we don't need self-help. We are helpless without Jesus.
To believe that our Heavenly Father constantly spreads around us providential circumstances that work for our present good and our everlasting well-being brings to the soul a veritable benediction.
~A.W. Tozer~
The more we magnify God, the more we realize just how amazing He is.
Satan loves disunity, divisions, factions, dissensions, uproars, falsehoods, distortions, lies, compromise, cowardice, distraction, slander, and counterfeits.
Satan hates the body of Christ!

What Happens When You Choose Biblical Joy?
You are choosing to trust God with the things that burden or break your heart.
You are choosing to set your mind on things above and not on things on this earth. (Colossians 3:2) You are choosing to focus on the eternal and not on the temporal. (2 Corinthians 418)
You are choosing to place your hope in Him and not in the things and people around you. (Psalm 146) You are choosing to cling to the promise found in James 1:12: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him." You are choosing to fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen…" You are choosing to set your hearts and minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:1–4)
Someone has described prayer as the breath of the newborn soul. Prayer is good and needed in the life of a Christian.
"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you..."
Too many people want a God that loves and accepts them but doesn’t command and change them. He doesn’t work like that.
“So, then, preach Christ. Preach Him plainly and gratefully, and you will not be tempted to preach about a man and his pretended powers and dignity."
- Jay E. Adams
Christ’s lovers prove their love by their obedience.
~John R. W. Stott~
Remember this lesson. God wants our obedience, not our tithes, our guilt money.
The best way to stay alert and the greatest deterrent to sin is the Bible. It is important to remember that God’s truth came before Satan’s lies.
sometimes we need to check our attitude and preferences at the door to fully experience the joy of Christian service. What is the Lord calling you to do that makes you feel a little uncomfortable? Will you give it a try?
If a friend approaches you with some “news” or a “concern” about another person, stop and ask, “May I quote you on what you’re about to tell me?” That will usually “put a lid” on the conversation before it even begins.
Parents today have intercoms they can place near a baby’s crib. No matter where they are in the house, mom and dad can respond to the slightest whimper. God listens intently to the cries of His people. He heard the groaning of the Hebrews in Egypt’s slave camps, and remembered His covenants of promise, and set them free
I was but a pen in God’s hands, and what praise is due to a pen?
~Richard Baxter~
Teaching tonight on the importance of being content... I love this lesson because there is a vast difference in being content and being lazy and not trying. To often we get complacent in our thinking and in life and think well if I lose my job it is what God wants for me, so why try. I think it is important to not move ahead of God but always do your best.
Ever have a ahooo moment or the light bulb goes on when it is day time and you see better... I just did... Check it out, The Lord always give an increases and harvest but most people plant one time for the season so the only get one harvest. Shut up this just came to me looking at my mothers garden. For reallys, anyway, her harvest always comes at one time so she plants, I water, an God gives the increase but we cant be that way we must continue to plant and water, never stop, don't give up......
Boom Baby, I love the Holy Spirit....
Whatever you are going through, REMEMBER: God brings us into deep waters, not to drown us, but to cleanse us.
Don't make life too complex. Keep your heart soft and your plans sensitive each day to whatever He brings along your way. May I encourage you to simply pray every morning that God would use you in whatever way He wants, and that He would give you the strength for whatever it is.
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Only after we die to self, can we put the needs of others above our own needs. That is the example Christ gave to us. He denied Himself and went to the Cross for you and me.
The cache of Christianity is Christ. Not money in the bank or a car in the garage or a healthy body or a better self-image.
The Fort Knox of faith—is Christ!
When it rains, it pours, but when it pours, He reigns.
Ignorance is not bliss. The way to avoid denying the Lord and His work is to be a person of the Scriptures.
Men must choose to be governed by God or they condemn
themselves to be ruled by tyrants.
~William Pen
As co-laborers in Christ, we all need to submit, one to another, with respect. We should be like David and recognize the hand of God upon His anointed. When we rebel against His anointed, we rebel against God.
Memorial Day reminds us we can conquer any challenge — as long as we have the right amount of courage, passion and purpose.
It's tragic to see people sell themselves short on what’s possible for their lives. Take the time to discover the possibilities; the lessons will be priceless.
There is hope . . . Faith is believing and being certain of things you cannot see. Never give up on God, because God will not give up on you."
“The believer in God must explain one thing, the existence of sufferings; the nonbeliever must explain the existence of everything else.” –Unknown
Don't let time to become your enemy, giving place to the devil. Talk about it, pray and let it go!
Let your anger distroy the problem not people!
Righteous anger reflects the character and mind of the Lord. We pray, vote, and pray more but never do harm or violence to get a point across.
The truth is hard, it requires vulnerability.
A LITTLE WHITE LIE IS STILL A LIE!
Cultivate complete honesty in your relationship.
Bible commentator Warren Wiersbe says this: “Every form of life has its enemies. Insects have to watch out for hungry birds, and birds must keep an eye on hungry cats and dogs. Even human beings have to dodge automobiles and fight off germs. The life that is real also has an enemy…sin.”
Sin is the darkness in life. It is outward disobedience and inner rebellion – refusal to submit to the law of God. You can’t whitewash it; neither can you cover it up without committing more sin. And that leaves you out of fellowship with God…
God’s salvation is much more inclusive. We who are saved by God’s grace begin to experience God’s shalom—peace and wholeness, life as it was meant to be—now, even as we anticipate the fullness of shalom that is reserved for the future.
You may not agree on everything, but you both must absolutely agree on this: to never give up.
Healthy communication in marriage requires that both spouses are willing to push through disagreements and get to the other side. You need not think exactly the same way, but you must thing together
Satan is a cruel taskmaster. When the devil dominates a person’s life, he holds them captive through some sinful vice, whether drugs, alcohol, or sexual adventures. His aim is to bring about the destruction of that person’s soul. The only way to be free from Satan’s grip is to repent and give your life over to Christ. He alone has the power to save you. He can break the chains of sin that bind you: When He [Christ] died, He died once to break the power of sin... (Romans 6:10 NLT). Christ will set you free!
Be half a Christian, and you shall have enough religion to make you miserable; be wholly a Christian and your joy shall be full.

Love still wins. Prayer still works. God is still able.
