Without Worship, we go miserable. - AW Tozer

Worship kills worry. We were made for it; it’s our purpose.

Often, it’s not the devil attacking you. It’s just the consequences of your sin.

Remember this and be encouraged: marriage is less about perfection and more about perspective and perseverance.

Love and truth go together. One cannot truly love without being lovingly truthful. But often, we act lovingly without fighting for truth or we fight for truth without being loving... both have damaging effects.

A machine can do work; only a life can bear fruit.

~Andrew Murray~

Three simple steps: pay attention to God's voice, listen when He speaks through His Word, and move when He calls.

Nothing is trivial here if heaven looks on.

 ~Vance Havner~

When you fill your thoughts with the wrong things, there's no room for the right things.

I would rather spend my whole life believing God exists only to die to find out he doesn't, then spend my whole life doubting his existence only to die and find out he does exist.

THE POWER OF SERVING

Franklin Roosevelt's closest adviser during much of his presidency was a man named Harry Hopkins. During World War II, when his influence with Roosevelt was at its peak, Hopkins held no official Cabinet position. Moreover, Hopkins's closeness to Roosevelt caused many to regard him as a shadowy, sinister figure. As a result he was a major political liability to the President.

A political foe once asked Roosevelt, "Why do you keep Hopkins so close to you? You surely realize that people distrust him and resent his influence."

Roosevelt replied, "Someday you may well be sitting here where I am now as President of the United States. And when you are, you'll be looking at that door over there and knowing that practically everybody who walks through it wants something out of you. You'll learn what a lonely job this is, and you'll discover the need for somebody like Harry Hopkins, who asks for nothing except to serve you."

Winston Churchill rated Hopkins as one of the half-dozen most powerful men in the world in the early 1940s. And the sole source of Hopkins's power was his willingness to serve.

-- Discipleship Journal, 1987

For us to be ultimately defeated, we would have to be separated from Christ's love for us. We would have to be cut off from the loving care of our victorious Lord.

No spiritual foe can enforce such a separation between God and His redeemed children. Neither can any circumstance of impossibility separate us from our loving God.

Since He may come any day, it is well to be ready every day.

~J. Hudson Taylor~

If we are still here when the Rapture comes, we are going to be immediately transformed and in the presence of the Lord. Amazing!

Many people don't believe they can make a change merely because previous attempts have failed. Or they think change has to be a long, painful process; It's not when you are leaning on Jesus. New actions will produce new results now. Don’t let your emotions dictate the direction of your life or your decisions.

Make a commitment to read more of the material that will help you discover who you are. Make a decision to grow. As Jim Rohn also says, "What you become directly influences what you get."

“Sit quietly to find and define your loves and hates. Then write down your whys. Write down your dreams, goals and plans on becoming financially free, retiring early and retiring as young as possible. Once it is in writing, you may want to show it to a friend who will support you in achieving your dreams. Take a look at this paper with your dreams, goals and plans on a regular basis. Talk about it often, ask for support, be willing to continually learn, and before you know it, things will begin to happen.

I have heard many people say: "Money doesn't buy happiness." That statement has some truth to it. But what money does do is buy me the time to do what I love and pay other people to do what I hate doing.”

LIVING IN THE PAST AND DWELLING IN PAST SINS OR CURRENT SINS WILL KILL FUTURE HOPE.

Opposition is not only evidence that God is blessing, but it is also an opportunity for us to grow. Some of your greatest blessings come with patience.

Some people feel so saved they never serve. Some serve at the hope of being saved. Does one of these sentences describe you?

God is trying to get your attention, but are there "crowds" in your life that are hindering your ability to listen to Him? Maybe these crowds are people, but maybe they are material possessions, or worries, anxieties, or fears that you're holding on to.

The heart of Christ was relentlessly focused on one task—the cross of Calvary. He was so focused that his final words were, “It is finished!” Wouldn’t you love to look back on your life and know you had done what you were called to do?

When God denies us something, even when we have the best of motives, it is because He has an even greater plan.

The bad news is an essential piece of the Christian gospel, the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. If we don’t grasp the bad news of our condition outside of Christ, then we won't grasp the good news of what God has done for us in Christ.

Too often these days, Christians downplay the bad news because we don’t want to put anyone off. But, by ignoring the bad news, we diminish the amazing goodness of the good news.

In one form or another, the test comes to every Christian. It is the smallest of things that sometimes prevents the greatest results. A slight defect in the finest bell and it ceases to sound.

“If you want your life to flow more smoothly—if you want to be more productive, and learn to be more selective, and your prayers to be more effective—then live in the zone: Abide in Christ.” —Steve May

Success is best measured by healthy church growth (including new believers), and that requires the teaching of the word. It's funny how it works: where God's word goes church growth appears -- rapidly. Too often we think programs, slick marketing campaigns, or building projects are what we need to grow. All that's necessary is to preach and teach God's word. We make it complicated and expensive, but it's quite simple.

Of all forms of deception, self-deception is the most deadly, and of all deceived persons the self-deceived are the least likely to discover the fraud.

~A.W. Tozer~

To be truly free requires the power of personal discipline and the ability to be obedient.

God says that before you were free, you were a slave, in bondage to sin. When you have freedom in Christ, you have the freedom not to sin. So why would you want to take up that heavy and burdensome yoke again when Jesus says his yoke is light and easy (Matthew 11:28-30).

There is a way to joy. The key is walking with our gaze set on Jesus, even when the way is dotted with suffering. ~

What Jesus offered to those in His day is what He still offers to all mankind today – freedom. Freedom from religion, freedom from rituals, freedom from tradition. What He offers instead of rituals and traditions is to make you free.
