Jesus knew exactly what was about to happen. He had to come and taste death for everyone. As commentator Alfred Edersheim wrote, “He disarmed Death by burying his shaft in His own Heart.”
Next to the cross, His time in Gethsemane was the loneliest moment of His life. In our moments of loneliness when it seems as though our friends or family have let us down—or when it even seems as though God has let us down—we must remember one thing: Jesus has been there. And He has been there for you.
We are all going to face our Gethsemanes in life, those times when things just aren’t making sense, when our problems seem too much to bear.
Jesus gives us an example of what we ought to do when we face our personal Gethsemanes, those moments of ultimate stress in which the cup that we are to drink seems to be too much to bear, when we seemingly can’t go on another day. He prayed.
Are you going through something you’d never thought was possible? What you do matters! Lean on Jesus, only Him. God is at work even though you don’t see it right now.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
God engineers circumstances to see what we will do. Will we be the children of our Father in heaven, or will we go back again to the meaner, common–sense attitude? Will we stake all and stand true to Him? “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” The crown of life means I shall see that my Lord has got the victory after all, even in me.

Sanctification is that process whereby the redeemed are increasingly set apart for the purposes, use, and glory of God. The resurrection of Christ and the power of that resurrection are interwoven into that entire process. Our present passage offers additional insight into this sublime truth.
There's always a way that seems right to a man, but it doesn't always mean that it is the right way.
So often we get locked into doing things our way (like the Sanhedrin), that when God corrects us through events (which many times are miraculous), we ignore the miracle because it doesn't fit with our expectation.
Sanctification is that process whereby the redeemed are increasingly set apart for the purposes, use, and glory of God. The resurrection of Christ and the power of that resurrection are interwoven into that entire process.

The triumphal entry is that of Jesus coming into Jerusalem on what we know as Palm Sunday, the Sunday before the crucifixion (John 12:1, 12). The story of the triumphal entry is one of the few incidents in the life of Jesus which appears in all four Gospel accounts (Matthew 21:1-17; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:29-40; John 12:12-19). Putting the four accounts together, it becomes clear that the triumphal entry was a significant event, not only to the people of Jesus’ day, but to Christians throughout history. We celebrate Palm Sunday to remember that momentous occasion.

“We are all strings in the concert of His joy.” —Jacob Boehme
God does not give us this desire for heaven (“eternity in our hearts,” Ecclesiastes 3:11 says) just to deny us year after year. He leaves us here on earth, suspended, vessels of His love and grace, filled with the joy of loving others — and experiencing the blessings of His love through other people.
We don’t see the big picture. But the great comfort is that He who makes and controls all circumstances knows what is best and will act accordingly. He will do the right thing.

Paul's all-consuming passion was "that I may know Him." This verse does not list four matters for which Paul sought an acquaintanceship (knowledge of God, resurrection power, a fellowship in Christ's sufferings, and conformity to His death). Rather, it points out one great quest (a knowledge of God) and three different arenas in which that knowledge could grow (resurrection power, a fellowship in Christ's sufferings, and conformity to His death). We saw in our last meditation how resurrection power and suffering can increase our knowing of the Lord. Now, we add another amazing aspect to a growing acquaintanceship with Jesus: "being conformed to His death."

There is no allowance whatever in the New Testament for the man who says he is saved by grace but who does not produce the graceful goods. Jesus Christ by His Redemption can make our actual life in keeping with our religious profession.
Jesus died for the sins of all people. He was separated from God and paid the full price for our sins in our place.
As we enter Holy Week, let’s fix our eyes and hearts on Jesus, our Savior. He who our reconciliation with God possible by pouring Himself out on the Cross deserves our adoration and attention
it is insulting to God to suggest that all religions are true and that whatever belief system you adopt will get you to Heaven if you are sincere. If that were the case, do you think that God the Father would have allowed His Son to suffer like He suffered, both in Gethsemane and on the cross?
because there was no other way for us to be brought into a relationship with a holy God from whom we are separated by sin, the wrath of God the Father had to be poured out on God the Son. And for Jesus, this was a fate worse than death.
There will be no possibility of standing before

Forgive Me When I Whine
Today upon a bus,
I saw a lovely maid with golden hair;
I envied her -- she seemed so gay,
and how I wished I were so fair;
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle;
she had one foot and wore a crutch,
but as she passed, a smile.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two feet -- the world is mine.
And when I stopped to buy some sweets,
the lad who served me had such charm;
he seemed to radiate good cheer,
his manner was so kind and warm;
I said, "It's nice to deal with you,
such courtesy I seldom find";
he turned and said, "Oh, thank you sir."
And then I saw that he was blind.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two eyes, the world is mine.
Then, when walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue;
he stood and watched the others play,
it seemed he knew not what to do;
I stopped a moment, then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word,
and then I knew he could not hear.
Oh God, forgive me when I whine,
I have two ears, the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd go;
with eyes to see the sunsets glow,
with ears to hear what I would know.
I am blessed indeed.
The world is mine; oh, God,
forgive me when I whine.
God wants to use you in a mighty way. Whether that is in your family, your city, your nation, or across a border, God has limitless opportunities for you to fulfill the great commission to make disciples.

We have a tendency in our relationships— even our closest ones to speak 95 percent of the truth. We don’t take it the full 100 percent. But that last 5 percent is what really needs to be said. Teenagers can be curious creatures: funny, perplexing and sometimes scary. A new phenomenon has taken hold of young people – supernatural romances between the living and the no-longer-dead…or “zombies.” A television hoax was aired in Montana a few years ago cautioning residents to watch for empty graves and the undead walking about, calling it a zombie apocalypse. The entire matter must be seen as the devil’s game and a call to prayer for the truth to invade young minds.
There will indeed be a resurrection, some believe very soon when graves of Christians will be emptied as they are powerfully and instantly changed and taken in an instant to be with the Lord.

Do not be jealous of another person’s success or become consumed with the desire to do what they do to get what you supposedly deserve. Instead, walk with integrity. One Bible commentary encourages you to be governed by the fear of the Lord in all you say and do. Constantly keep awe of God upon your spirit, pay deference to His authority, and have the dread of His wrath. In that way, you will maintain the character of His servant – and He will reward you in ways far greater and more fulfilling than mere material gain.

Leaders mustn’t be governed by emotions, of course. They need to exercise all of their human faculties when they lead, especially in times of crisis. But Nehemiah’s example encourages us not to ignore or mask our true feelings. When it comes to your leadership in the COVID-19 crisis, I expect you have many feelings: fear, compassion, frustration, anxiety, confusion, distraction, hope, hopelessness, sadness, anger, love, and gratitude. I’m sure you could add to this list. My point here is that you will be a leader of integrity if you allow yourself to feel, acknowledging your feelings to yourself and God. Others when it is necessary.
As leaders in a crisis we will need to help others deal with their feelings, and we can only do this well if we are in touch with and managing well our own feelings.
we have to be very careful that through our desire to be organized and serve the needs of our members, we don't stray too far from Bible based teaching and into so many activities and programs that we begin to look more like a social club than a church.
