QUOTES

Updated: Jul 9, 2023

Isn’t it comforting to realize that God knows about us and cares about us? He knows the intimate details of our lives.

“Grace is not sought nor bought nor wrought. It is a free gift of Almighty God to needy mankind.” —Billy Graham

"Repentance is the doorway to renewal; humility the pathway to grace." — Ravi Zacharias

Living by the promises of God is just another way to consider living by the grace of God.

"LORD, HELP US TO NOT LIVE SAVED THIS LONG, AND YET, MISS HEAVEN, AND MAKE HELL. AIN'T NOTHING WRONG ABOUT LIVING RIGHT!" "LEADERSHIP 101: NEVER ALLOW YOUR TITLE TO GET IN THE WAY OF AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE."

"LORD, I PRAY YOU RELOCATE ME TO A FRESH PLACE WITHOUT THE STENCH OF STALE PEOPLE.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE IT IN YOUR LIFE, DON'T SPEAK IT INTO YOUR LIFE! TODAY, PURPOSELY, INTENTIONALLY, DELIBERATELY...MIND YOUR MOUTH! PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE WHAT GOD WANTED YOU TO GO THROUGH WITH WHAT YOU DECIDED TO DEAL WITH.

MAKE SURE SOMEONE IN THE RELATIONSHIP HAS GOOD CREDIT. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED "SIGNIFICANT" OTHER: SIGN/IF/I/CAN’T! GOD IS GETTING READY TO SHIFT YOU TO YOUR NEXT LEVEL, SO BUCKLE UP, BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN SUDDENLY! YOUR ANOINTING IS ABOUT TO CHANGE ALTITUDES! THE BIBLE IS LOADED WITH "BUT GOD" MOMENTS: IN A LIONS DEN, A FISH'S BELLY, A PIT, A PRISON, A CAVE, A STORM, A RED SEA, A FIERY FURNACE, AND A BORROWED TOMB. IT CAN LOOK LIKE IT'S OVER, "BUT GOD" IS NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET! ANOTHER "BUT GOD" MOMENT IS ABOUT TO HIT YOUR LIFE! YOU NEVER HAVE TO REMAIN STUCK IN NEGATIVE RELATIONSHIPS/FRIENDSHIPS (BE IT FAMILY, FRIEND OR FOE!) WHICH IS WHY YOU DON'T GET TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES WHEN YOU'RE IN CONTROL OF YOUR CHOICES. IT'S A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOYALTY AND LUNACY, CHOOSE WISELY!

PAIN, PLOTS, AND PROBLEMS HAVE THE POWER TO TAKE YOU OUT, BUT WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE GOD'S PERMISSION, YOU NEED NOT WORRY!

"The providences of God are seldom self-interpreting. We have to learn to say, 'I do not know, but I do know that God knows.'" —Alistair Begg

"The providence of God is often a dark and impenetrable abyss to us." —John Murray

"As God orders the events of life, He does not infringe upon our liberty; thereby, we make decisions. Nor does He relieve us of responsibility, so that then we're able to say that our sin is God's fault. No, sin is never God's fault." —Alistair Begg

"God's providential care extends over the entire universe." —Alistair Begg

"God's providence extends to that which we would be tempted to see as inconsequential, beyond His ken and beyond His care." —Alistair Begg

"Love for Christ breeds hatred of sin." — Charles Spurgeon

"A minister who can preach a sermon without addressing sinners does not know how to preach." — Charles Spurgeon

"There is no injustice in the grace of God. God is as just when he forgives a believer as when he casts a sinner into hell." — Charles Spurgeon "A sinner can no more repent and believe without the Holy Spirit's aid than he can create a world." — Charles Spurgeon

“It is not our contrition or sorrow for sin, it is not our repentance, it is not the passing of a certain number of hours during which we feel we are on some kind of probation that cleanses us. It is the blood of Christ, shed once for all on Calvary 2,000 years ago” -Bridges

“Here, nature is offering that worship to her Creator which man is refusing.” — Hudson Taylor

Lord Jesus, You are my righteousness, I am your sin. You took on you what was mine; yet set on me what was yours. You became what you were not, that I might become what I was not.

Martin Luther

There is nothing that is so encouraging to holiness, so stimulating, so uplifting, as to know the 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘺 of my final salvation and glorification. —Martyn Lloyd-Jones,

Exposition of Romans 5:188

The doctrine of the Trinity is basic to the Christian religion. It is no exaggeration to assert that the whole of Christianity stands or falls with it. RB Kuiper

Our labors are not intended to bring about that which God has not decreed. -A.W. Pink -

We are God's, to Him, therefore, let us live and die. -John Calvin -

"Unnumbered comforts to my soul Thy tender care bestowed Before my infant heart conceived From whom those comforts flowed." —Joseph Addison, "When All Thy Mercies, O My God"

Just as we bear the image of the Creator, so a branch bears the image of the vine. And just as God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful, so Jesus says we’ve been chosen — appointed — to bear fruit.

  • God moves when His people pray.

Not only is God all-knowing, or omniscient, but He is also omnipresent, which means that He is present everywhere. No matter where we go, He will be there.

God promised, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 NLT). When we go through times of difficulty, when we must weather life’s storms, He is there.

God knows exactly what’s going to happen in the future.

"Prosperity knits a man to the World. He feels that he is finding his place in it, while really it is finding its place in him." — C.S. Lewis

"Christ is not valued at all unless he is valued above all." — Augustine

A growing appreciation of God's ability produces an increasing tendency to rely upon God's promises.

These opening words from one of the most well-known benedictions in all of the New Testament offer a unique opportunity to consider God's ability, as related to His promises. How able is God? He is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." Could we possibly ask for more than that which God has already promised? Could we properly think of greater things than what God has promised? Well, let's reflect upon some of the promises of God that we have already considered.
