One benefit of living by the promises of God is related to something that God cannot do. He is unable to lie. "It is impossible for God to lie." This "inability" magnifies His greatness and brings us great assurance. This "inability" of God is linked here to His promises. We who live by faith are "heirs of promise." We inherit the blessings of God by trusting Him to fulfill all that He has promised to do.
"Fear not, for God is with you, behind you, beside you, around you, within you."— Charles Stanley
Soren Kierkegaard, decrying the spiritual sloth of his era, wrote, "Let others complain that the age is wicked; my complaint is that it is wretched for it lacks passion...their lusts are dull and sluggish, their passions sleepy."
If you have a relationship with God and are walking closely with Him, then you will see this world for what it is. You will recognize the philosophies, concepts, and ideologies that contradict what the Bible teaches.
When you are walking closely with God, you also will see the emptiness and the futility of the things that people chase after.
When we see God for who He is, we will see this world for what it is.
Don’t follow heart, it is wicked. Follow Jesus, He is wise.
Jesus didn’t come to save perfect people. He came to save sinners.
You find out how strong your faith really is by how you react to adversity and difficulty. Someone has said that character is not made in a crisis; it’s revealed.
At this very moment in time, God is doing work among us. His glory is working in and through our lives. The LORD of Hosts has empowered us by His Spirit, the same Spirit working though Zerubbabel: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). Be filled with the Holy Spirit to do the work of God. He has also reassured us by giving us a glimpse of our eternal hope for the future in His Word: Raul Ries
Christian hope is a certainty, guaranteed by God himself... Christian hope expresses knowledge that every day of his life, and every moment beyond it, the believer can say with truth, on the basis of God’s own commitment, that the best is yet to come. ~J.I Packer~
Too often we see people in error who are allowed to continue on without correction. It seems we have misunderstood and misapplied the principle of love -- it is not meant to be accepting of all beliefs and opinions. Some like Simon's are simply wrong and need to be confronted. Many times we are more concerned with political correctness than we are with defending the integrity of Jesus' message. Too often I have seen churches and ministries go off track because godly men and women failed to speak up before it was too late.
As you pursue a deeper relationship with Christ, acknowledge that all you own belongs to God and is His to use as He desires. Be willing to get rid of something if it competes with your primary devotion to Him. Be willing to meet someone’s needs with what God has entrusted you.
Humility is to make the right estimate of oneself.~C.H. Spurgeon~
"Whether our witness is verbal or through our actions, may it be laced with love and a genuine caring for the other person, as a true reflection of God’s love for us.
Lighthouses don’t fire guns or ring bells to call attention to their light, they just shine". —Sherwood E. Wirt
People are naturally critical; we have to deal with this the best way that we can. If you ever need an extra boost, remember this: critics are loud, but success is louder. Don’t just endure criticism—lead through it.
Fellowship is praying together. It is serving together. It is giving together. It is aging together. These are the fibers of fellowship. Fellowship with God and with His people go together. And if you find yourself out of fellowship with God, you will soon find yourself out of fellowship with other believers as well.
Joy is delight at God's grace which enables us to endure our trials.~George Seevers~
Thinking about ourselves can hinder us from shepherding... Because when self becomes the priority instead of Jesus Christ our Savior, we don't shepherd well.
There is a balance in the word of God for life. We must keep the Real Thing the real thing and the first thing!
When we speak of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are speaking of Him becoming my all in all, the One I submit and surrender to. I have no rights. He has all rights to my life, and I am in full submission to Him. The path of submission is the way to peace. ~Herbert Carson~
Lead, kindly light. . .
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see The distant scene; one step enough for me.
God isn’t going to let you see the distant scene either. So you might as well quit looking for it. God does promise a lamp for our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We don’t need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know that Hebrews 4:16 promises “We will find grace to help us when we need it.”
It is so important, to be honest, and forthcoming no matter what we are doing in life because it all comes back to bite us in our butt... What good is it for me to get one client by lies...? Our product speaks for itself........ My Faith in Christ speaks when my mouth is shut. Be honest at all times...
History repeats itself...Opportunities don't
Lust is felt even by fleas and lice. ~Martin Luther~
Chaos is the aim of the Destroyer. Satan seeks to take apart everything God puts together. God grants authority to restrain the disorder. Human governments mediate God’s authority. When they rebel against His order, they become subject to overthrow. But God’s covenant people have the assignment of submitting to true authority. The foolish are those who seek to lead rebellion, only for the sake of seizing power. God’s promise is that as His people submit to God-granted authority, they help squelch the rebellious and maintain society’s peace. Winning Walk~ Dr. Ed Young
When we use defenses to hide from the truth of a problem or sin in our life, we build a wall brick by brick. This wall protects us from the truth and provides a secret place for us to hide. Unfortunately, the wall also isolates us from people who can help us.
God is our source of help, but he often chooses to help us through other people.
Stress comes when we allow the many voices in life to drown out the only voice that really matters, the voice of God. We can’t obey every voice we hear. If we try, we will end up in total failure, carrying a heavy load we were never created to carry.
God never promises the absence of distress. But he does promise the assuring presence of his Holy Spirit.
Let God talk to you for 15 minutes today and then talk back for 15 minutes. After Go share Him for 15 minutes and see what may come.Billy Sunday
