If we are still here when the Rapture comes, we are going to be immediately transformed and in the presence of the Lord. Amazing!

Since He may come any day, it is well to be ready every day. ~J. Hudson Taylor~

For us to be ultimately defeated, we would have to be separated from Christ's love for us. We would have to be cut off from the loving care of our victorious Lord. Can any foe or any situation accomplish that?

THE POWER OF SERVING

Franklin Roosevelt's closest adviser during much of his presidency was a man named Harry Hopkins. During World War II, when his influence with Roosevelt was at its peak, Hopkins held no official Cabinet position. Moreover, Hopkins's closeness to Roosevelt caused many to regard him as a shadowy, sinister figure. As a result, he was a major political liability to the President.

A political foe once asked Roosevelt, "Why do you keep Hopkins so close to you? You surely realize that people distrust him and resent his influence."

Roosevelt replied, "Someday you may well be sitting here where I am now as President of the United States. And when you are, you'll be looking at that door over there and knowing that practically everybody who walks through it wants something out of you. You'll learn what a lonely job this is, and you'll discover the need for somebody like Harry Hopkins, who asks for nothing except to serve you."

Winston Churchill rated Hopkins as one of the half-dozen most powerful men in the world in the early 1940s. And the sole source of Hopkins's power was his willingness to serve.

I would rather spend my whole life believing God exists only to die to find out he doesn't than spend my whole life doubting his existence only to die and find out he does exist.

PSA: The Church doesn’t need to fall into the trap of referring to students as “LGBTQIA+ teens” or “trans-youth”. It feeds into the lie that it’s their identity. It’s not. Behind the cultural labels are people made in the “image of God”, who desperately need the hope of Jesus.

Self-help: You are enough. Bible: You’re not enough. God is enough. Self-help: Belief in yourself. Bible: Deny yourself. Believe in God. Self-help: Follow your heart. Bible: You need a new heart. Follow Jesus. Self-help: Live your truth. Bible: Jesus is the Truth. He is Life.

Guard your thoughts, and there will be little fear about your actions. - @JCRyle

The key of Paul’s life is: “I am crucified with Christ.” (Gal. 2:20). That’s why he had a passion. He’s been so liberated, so emancipated, so educated by the Spirit, he stands before kings, and kings tremble. Isn’t that something?

"God never once asks for or endorses the disengagement of our thinking processes. Instead, God's word repeatedly shows us that Christianity is actually a call to think rightly and deeply about God, His world, and our place in it." —Alistair Begg

In this generation, there is a great noise of religion, yet there is little evidence of the fruit of true mortification of sin. -John Owen

We have been once born sinners: we must be born again, that we may be saints. -Thomas Boston -

What the heart loves, the will chooses, and the mind justifies. Thomas Cranmer

On this Monday, God gives Strength to the weary (Is 40:29). Peace to the fearful (Is 41:10). Steadiness to the shaken (Is 43:2). Protection to the threatened (Is 54:17). Justice to the oppressed (Is 58:6). Comfort to the brokenhearted (Is 61:1).

'In the end, the truth will prevail." -John Wycliffe.

God has a way of putting His finger on the very thing that means most to us, doesn’t He? Hold it with an open hand.

As you reflect on the Bible verses from the reading plan that you read this past week, read these related thoughts from Pastor Chuck Swindoll.

We are indeed in a storm, — the whole earth seems to reel and stagger like a drunken man; but yet our souls may rest in the infinite skill and wisdom of the great Pilot of the whole creation, who steers all things according to the counsel of his will. —John Owen, Works 6:629
