QUOTES

A compromise must always be impossible where the truth is essential and fundamental.

~C. H. Spurgeon~

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”

— Woodrow Wilson

God gives eternal choices, and these choices have eternal consequences.

Isn’t this the reminder of Calvary’s trio? Ever wonder why there were two crosses next to Christ? Why not six or ten? Ever wonder why Jesus was in the center? Could it be the two crosses on the hill symbolize one of God’s greatest gifts? The gift of choice. The two criminals were convicted by the same system. Condemned to death. Equally close to the same Jesus. But one changed and one did not.

Living by resurrection power is the difference between earthly striving and heavenly reality.

The only way to make sense of what is happening around the world today is to know what is going to happen tomorrow.

A lot of people today want to be like the Jesus who flipped over tables in the temple, but they don’t want to be like the Jesus who sacrificially loves and serves the church.

"Don't shine so others can see you. Shine so that, through you, others can see Him." — C.S. Lewis

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." — Corrie ten Boom

Trials and difficulties become occasions to be humbled before God. We are provoked to cry out to God in helplessness. Also, trials present new opportunities to trust in the Lord. When the trials are intense, God is purging us of the primary obstacle to trusting in God, and that is self-trust. "Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead."

Comparison is a one-way road to resentment.

If we’re going to operate in the calling of God, we need His confidence to walk into challenges regardless of fear! Are you ready to do it?

"It is possible to be orthodox in our understanding and yet still not know Jesus as our friend and Savior." —Alistair Begg

"The man on the cross is a sacrifice. The man on the cross hangs there as a substitute. Hell came to Calvary, and Jesus entered into it. Bearing all of my shame, and all of my scoffing, and all of my rebellion, He took my place." —Alistair Begg

“The universal reign of death testifies to the universal reach of sin in humanity.” —

Guy Prentiss Waters, Facing the Last Enemy, 9.

Only Christ can satisfy the soul. All other ways and things will only end in disappointment. — John Owen

“We stand firm not only because we hate what is in front of us but because we love what is behind us.”

“Do we choose our church because of our music, or do we choose our music based on our God?” — Robert Godfrey

“Standing firm is about not adding to the gospel… when you add to the gospel, you are subtracting from Christ.”

“The church is the place where the truth is supported.” — Robert Godfrey
