Hope is not refusing to face the truth. Hope is having confidence in God to see you through each difficult trial. Jesus was always the epitome of truth, but He never failed to bring hope to others. David Jeremiah

"The world does need changing, society needs changing, the nation needs changing, but we never will change it until we ourselves are changed." Billy Graham

Death used to be an executioner, but the gospel has made him just a gardener.

Herbert

The ultimate end of true theology is the celebration of the praise of God, and His glory and grace in the eternal salvation of sinners. — John Owen

“Those who believe they believe in God, but without passion in the heart, without anguish of mind, without uncertainty, without doubt, and even at times without despair, believe only in the idea of God, and not in God himself” ―Madeleine L'Engle

"An active faith can give thanks for a promise, though it is not as yet performed, knowing that God’s bonds are as good as ready money." - Matthew Henry

Faith is the conviction that God will fulfill with His hand what His mouth has spoken; it is the confidence that God is able and faithful to keep His word. Faith is being sure God is not a promise-breaker.

What activities did Jesus practice? Such things as solitude and silence, prayer, simple and sacrificial living, intense study and meditation upon God’s Word and God’s ways, and service to others. The Spirit of the Disciplines

“It is safe to tell the pure in heart that they shall see God, for only the pure in heart want to.” - C.S. Lewis

How can Christ be in the heart when the devil has taken possession of the tongue? -

Thomas Watson -

I think it is very important to stand up for our beliefs. In fact, the Lord has given Christians a voice in this country and it is our responsibility to use it. But He also has given us instructions for what to do about sin in the Church. It seems to me we have become far too lax and open-minded related to our acceptance of Biblically opposed sin.

One great issue I commonly see among Christians is their tendency to judge the world. They demand changes in our culture, legal system, government, and schools. They vote, march, crusade, petition, and demonstrate against and for the establishment or preservation of our Christian heritage. While I am also concerned with the social ills of our country, I don't want to be blind to the problems we have in our churches. To a certain degree, our activism is backward. We're to deal with the Christian community and let God take care of the world's injustice.

May you start your day with a renewed sense of purpose and a deep trust in God's unfailing love for you. Remember that He is always with you, guiding and directing your steps. Have a blessed day!

"God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile."

— Max Lucado

These words from Jesus provide another picture of what the fullness of the Spirit is all about, as well as how to walk in that spiritual abundance. His remarks are addressed to those who are thirsty: "If anyone thirsts." In this spiritual context, thirst can speak of the painful dryness that often accompanies need or lack. Pressures, responsibilities, busyness, disappointments, and preoccupation with earthly matters can dry out the soul of man. Corresponding to this need, thirst can refer to the eager yearning after those heavenly blessings that refresh and restore our inner life. Such thirsty conditions apply to all of us at various times.

Jesus tells us exactly how to remedy such thirst. "Come to Me and drink." We are to bring these needs to the Lord Jesus Christ and drink of Him. So often, we attempt to satisfy such thirst by drinking at other wells. Thirsty people around the world attempt to find relief through education, work, religion, politics, entertainment, money, drugs, and more. They all encounter the truth that our Lord revealed to the Samaritan woman at the well. "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again" (John 4:13).

Every problem can teach us something — transforming us little by little into the person God designed us to be.

The Lord is with you and for you! Ask Him to settle you with His presence.

Many of us don’t walk by faith because the past keeps dragging us backward. Abuse, pain, grief, childhood memories, bitterness, and false security can turn the past into an obsession.

The will of God is not an option for the true Christian. Therefore, not only should we want to know the will of God, but we also should be anxious to do the will of God. The psalmist David wrote, “I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart”

(Psalm 40:8 NLT).

"We cannot be beneficiaries of the objective righteousness of Christ without the evidence presenting itself in our righteous living." —Alistair Begg
