"NEW BLESSINGS ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER WAITING FOR YOU, YOU JUST HAVE TO GET THE COURAGE TO LEAVE THE OLD BLOCK FIRST!"
NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE WORRIED ABOUT THE ATTACKS OF HELL WHEN YOU HAVE AN ALL-ACCESS PASS TO THE RESOURCES OF HEAVEN!
EXPECT GOD TO GRANT WHAT YOU ASK, REVEAL WHAT YOU SEEK, AND OPEN DOORS YOU KNOCK ON!
EVERYBODY IS NOT YOUR ASSIGNMENT! GO TO GOD IN PRAYER, BEFORE YOU GO POURING INTO PEOPLE! GOD DIDN'T ANOINT YOU TO WASTE OIL!
NOT EVERYTHING IS MEANT TO BE DISCLOSED TO EVERYBODY. A LITTLE DISCERNMENT AND DISCRETION WILL KEEP YOU FROM A LOT OF DISAPPOINTMENT! (JAMES 1:19, "...SLOW TO SPEAK [A SPEAKER OF CAREFULLY CHOSEN WORDS]..." (AMP)
"YOU KNOW YOU'VE GROWN WHEN YOU CAN RECEIVE CORRECTION WITH GRATITUDE AND NOT ATTITUDE." (HEBREWS 12:7)
NOT EVERY SERMON THAT SOUNDS GOOD IS GOOD DOCTRINE. NEVER BE SO BUSY DANCING, THAT YOU'RE NOT DISCERNING.
1 Corinthians 5:7a Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch -- as you really are.
Evil must first be identified and then removed. If not, the effectiveness of the church is eventually destroyed. Therefore, Paul instructs the "old yeast" (the metaphor for evil) must be completely purged from the church so its work will not be compromised.
The crucial choice that believers in Christ face day by day is between living by the flesh or living by the Spirit. The difference is facing life by our resources and perspectives or by God's resources and perspectives. "Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." When a Christian deals with life by his flesh, he typically thinks about "what I want out of my life" or "what I can accomplish with my life."
“Through the western window a solemn light streams from Mt. Calvary. Through the eastern window shines the light of sunrise, the herald of a brighter day. Thus the school of Grace is well-lighted, but we cannot afford to do without the light from either the west or the east.”
—Canon Hay Aitken
I encourage you to live in the understanding of God’s great love and grace toward you. Cherish your position as His son or daughter.
Our challenge for today is not to bear the grief of a lifetime or to be faithful to the end, but only to carry today’s grief and only to be faithful on this one little day that He has laid out before us.
God has grace enough for today for you. Lean on Him
If you want to see a revival, then you need to do revival-like things. It doesn’t matter whether you feel it; just do it. Emotions will catch up. Don’t wait for a big encounter with God or some emotional experience. That may happen, or it may not. To have a personal revival, you need to go back to the basics in your walk with Christ.
No repentance is acceptable with God but what is built on the faith of forgiveness?
—John Owen, An Exposition Upon Psalm CXXX, Works 6:438
There is no cause why those who are under a call to repentance should question whether there be forgiveness in God or not. —
Puritan John Owen (1616-1683), An Exposition Upon Psalm CXXX, Works 6:440
Be careful not to measure your holiness by other people’s sins.
Martin Luther
By faith we began, by hope, we continue, and by revelation, we shall obtain the whole.
Martin Luther
The soul can do without everything except the word of God, without which none at all of its wants are provided for. Martin Luther
When God’s righteousness is mentioned in the gospel, it is God’s action of declaring righteous the unrighteous sinner who has faith in Jesus Christ. The righteousness by which a person is justified (declared righteous) is not his own but that of another, Christ.
Martin Luther
