QUOTES

The communion of the soul with God brings inner spiritual wisdom. He who learns from God will soon find knowledge within himself growing in the garden of his soul.

— Charles Spurgeon

"To rejoice in temporal comforts is dangerous, to rejoice in self is foolish, to rejoice in sin is fatal, but to rejoice in God is heavenly." — Charles Spurgeon

If Satan can get you to doubt God and the validity of your salvation, he has gained a foothold in your life. Christians struggle against sin, but if you’re content with it, something is terribly wrong.

"O sweet exchange! O unsearchable operation! O benefits surpass all expectations! Many's wickedness should be hidden in a single righteous One, and that the righteousness of One should justify many transgressors!" –– Epistle To Diognetus

He who dwells in a house keeps the house in repair; so the Spirit dwelling in a believer, keeps grace in repair.

2. Satan’s kingdom is attacked.

3. People love the Scriptures more.

4. People are led from error to truth.

"True repentance is never too late, and late repentance is seldom true." -

Among those who believe themselves to be orthodox Christians, [is] a deplorable ignorance of the religion they profess, an utter forgetfulness of the peculiar doctrines by which it is characterized

The devil can’t steal what Jesus has done for you through his death and resurrection.

Let the talkers talk. Their words drop dead and become dust while you rise up in faith, hope, and love.

If there is mercy with GOD, let him be feared, not disobeyed.

Like a person who colors their hair to hide the fact that it is graying, our culture "colors" sin by calling it something other than what God does. But regardless of what color you choose, your hair is still gray at the root, and the root of sin is always the heart (Mk. 7:18-23).

Jesus didn’t come so that He could “get us”. He came to seek and save the lost through His perfect sacrifice on the cross.

One day in glory with Christ will be enough to make us forget a hundred years of trials on earth.

"The devil is a chained enemy and a conquered enemy. Therefore, fear not to give battle to him. Resist him, and he will fly, for he knows no other march than running away." —

Thomas Watson, "Heaven Taken by Storm"

The church is uniquely equipped to ask, talk about, and offer real answers to a counselee's biggest questions. —David Powlison

There is no such thing as “your truth” or even “my truth”. There is only “the truth”.

“Many Christians seem never to think whether the way in which they spend their time is pleasing to God or not. If they did, would they ever go to some entertainments, or indulge in certain pleasures?” —

James Smith (1802-1862), “The Proper Aim of a Christian Life”

It’s when we lose sight of our true identity we fall into fear.

Prayer is an acknowledgment that our need for God’s help is not partial but total.

Alistair Begg

Never stop believing in God’s timing. He can change things in an instant!

Why are we so terrified for God to speak to us? It is because we know that when God speaks we must either do what He asks or tell Him we will not obey.

Partial obedience to God is disobedience. Saul defeated the Amalekites, but he took king Agag alive instead of destroying him as God commanded (1 Samuel 15:1-35). Obedience to God is never to be a matter of our subjective reasoning. In whatever He commands, we are to fully obey regardless of the ramifications.
