In order for Jesus to rescue us from our desperate situation, He had to become poor. When He hung on the cross for us, He took the spiritual poverty of our sin and guilt upon Himself. What a humbling picture of our inborn spiritual condition. Basically, we had to agree with the Lord, humbling ourselves before Him, and asking for His help. Additionally, faith was involved. We had to believe that through His death, we could become spiritually rich, that is, forgiven of sin and righteous in His sight.
As I look around our churches today, I see some who share the Corinthians' attitude of entitlement. Remember, the church staff does not exist to be servants to us as if we were kings and queens. Is your pastor's function to serve you or serve God? What about other church staff? Do you honor the financial sacrifice many of those people make to serve God by working at your church?
The struggle comes to us all, doesn’t it? Let’s face it with worship and adoration remembering that God is so much bigger and more powerful than any trial we endure. He is with us!
Nothing can happen through us until it has first happened to us.
We are like seeds. Only by dying and being buried in the ground can anything productive come of a little seed. But what if the seed could talk? Would it be asking, “Hey, why did you dig a hole and throw me in it? Why are you burying me? Help!”
“In a day when believers seem to be trying to please both the world and the Lord (which is an impossible thing) when people are far more concerned about offending their friends than offending God, there is only one answer…Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him!” —Keith Green
Keith Green - (1953-1982)
Going to Church doesn't make you a Christian, any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger. It's time to quit playing church and start being the Church (Matt. 18:20). Keith Green
I repent of ever having recorded one single song, and ever having performed one concert, if my music, and more importantly, my life has not provoked you into Godly jealousy or to sell out more completely to Jesus! Keith Green
No Compromise is what the whole Gospel of Jesus is all about... 'For I tell you...no man can serve two masters...' (Matt. 6:24). In a day when believers seem to be trying to please both the world and the Lord (which is an impossible thing) when people are far more concerned about offending their friends than offending God, there is only one answer...Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him! If your heart takes more pleasure in reading novels, watching TV, going to the movies, or talking to friends, rather than just sitting alone with God and embracing Him, sharing His cares and His burdens, weeping and rejoicing with Him, then how are you going to handle forever and ever in His presence? You’d be bored to tears in heaven if you’re not ecstatic about God now! Keith Green
The only music minister to whom the Lord will say, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant," is the one whose life proves what their lyrics are saying, and to whom music is the least important part of their life. Glorifying the only worthy One has to be a minister's most important goal!

The smallest measure of real faith will take the soul to heaven.
-Octavius Winslow
“The Bible does not say we should aim at numbers but rather urges us faithfully to proclaim God’s message in the boldness of the Holy Spirit. This will build God’s church God’s way.” -
Jim Cymbala
"[Christ] has paid all that was due, for he has paid his life; he has given himself for us, and borne our sins in his own body on the tree so that his death is the death of our sins." -
Charles Spurgeon
"It is His Spirit who giveth thee an inward check, Who causeth thee to feel uneasy when thou walkest in any instance contrary to the light which *He* hath given thee." -
John Wesley, "On Conscience" (1788)
Did the thief on the cross believe in Jesus? Yes. Did he acknowledge he was a sinner? Yes. Was he baptized? No. Did he have anything to offer to Jesus? No. Did he do anything for Jesus? No. He was totally helpless. Jesus shows salvation is simple. Come to Jesus as you are today!
Not what I think, but what Thou art makes sure.
Felt weakness deepens dependence on Christ for strength each day. The weaker we feel, the harder we lean. And the harder we lean, the stronger we grow spiritually, even while our bodies waste away. J. I. Packer
Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
Soon the Church era will be over and the tribulation will begin. Today you get saved by believing in Jesus, that He died, was buried, and resurrected -no works. But during the trib in order to get saved you'll have to "endure to the end" - which means 7 horrific years or death!!!
God will NOT ignore the trouble that the world has given us, in His good time He'll recompense every wrong that we have suffered - He's a just and fair God. He'll not let the circumstances keep us from growing and prospering in the life He's giving us in Jesus!! Keep looking up!!
