QUOTES

Faith accesses the grace of God. "Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand." When we first trusted in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we enjoyed our initial access to grace. God intends for His children to continue accessing grace daily throughout their lives. Every time we face any matter with dependence upon the Lord Jesus, we are drawing from the bottomless ocean of God's grace. Thereby, His grace becomes our resource for living.

The entire Christian walk is designed to be lived by faith. "The just shall live by faith." In every step of every day, in every issue we face, we rely upon the Lord. This path of trust accesses grace. Faith allows us to receive and respond to the grace that God desires to shower upon us. Remember, faith is what corresponds with grace. "Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace" (Romans 4:16). Trying our hardest does not ensure God's grace working in and through us. Attempting to be passive does not bring forth a display of His grace. However, humbly trusting in the Lord, whether taking action or patiently waiting, will always result in His grace undertaking for us.

G.K. Chesterton said, “True contentment is a real, even active, virtue—not only affirmative but creative…It is the power of getting out of any situation all there is in it.”

C.S. Lewis said, “Nobody who gets enough food and clothing in a world where most are hungry and cold has any business to talk about ‘misery.’

Your enemy is not flesh and blood, not the things of this world, but every thought, imagination, every “high thing” that wants to loom higher, loftier, and greater than the knowledge of God in your life is your enemy.

Just as He was for Moses, God is everything we need! Who we are is not nearly as important as who God is. Let’s put our faith in Him.

Dallas Willard famously said, “The first act of love is always the giving of attention.”

As believers, we’re called to love as Jesus loved. He embodied empathy and so should we. Let’s grow in empathy by continuing to try new ways to love as Jesus loves us!

It isn’t enough to be sorry. We must do something about it. The Bible says that “godly sorrow produces repentance.” Repentance means that we are willing to change. Repentance means being sorry enough to stop.

We know that judgment is coming. It is only a matter of time. So, let’s pray that God will send at least one more spiritual awakening to our nation before judgment comes. If God could bring a mighty revival in Nineveh, then certainly He could do the same for the United States.

"You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary." -

When you go through a trial, the sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which you lay your head.

— Charles Spurgeon

"The very thought of serving God is liberty." — Charles Spurgeon

He gives that strength whereby he lifts up the hands that hang down and strengthens the feeble knees. - Jonathan Edwards

If you stumble, He will raise you. If you err, He will gently bring you back. If you faint, He will revive you. -

Let us exalt Christ in our hearts; believe, adore, and love him. -

"Christianity is both creed & conduct." -A.T. Robertson.

There is nothing more real in all the world than the Lord Jesus Christ. —

Charles Spurgeon

Christ is that tree of life, which hath brought forth all things that are needful unto life eternal. - John Owen

Jesus Christ is Alive! The moment you tell Jesus that you are in need of Him – the moment you put your faith and trust in Him, you're saved, justified by His blood, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready!!! Come to Jesus NOW!! The Holy Spirit will guide you!!

It is a contradiction to be a sanctified man or a true Christian, and not humble.

Richard Baxter
