QUOTES

“Storms are not an option, but fear is”?

The most complicated people to reach with the Gospel are your family members because they’ve known you for your entire life.

Everything must be kept scriptural. George Muller put it so well, “If the Holy Spirit guides us at all, He will do it according to the Scriptures, and never contrary to them.”

All your parts, including the unseen parts of your inner world, reflect the beautiful and gracious complexity of God’s handiwork.

“Without God, I can’t. But without me, God won’t.”

Robert Edward Luccock

The Christian is the visual aid that God brings onto the stage when he begins to speak to an unconverted person.

~H.W. Cragg~

There is power, freedom, and health in honest forgiveness that comes from the heart of God.

Ask seek knock… Easier said than done when it seems that God isn’t answering the door! Have you quit praying about something because you didn’t get an answer right away? Don’t stop! Be persistent! Keep knocking!

We cannot reach God through good works, moral living, or religious rituals. But God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus summed up God’s plan when He said, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT).

The first work of the Spirit is to make a man look upon sin as an enemy and to deal with sin as an enemy, to hate it as an enemy, to loathe it as an enemy, and to arm against it as an enemy.

~Thomas Brooks~

When you are filled with the Spirit’s power, you can engage in spiritual warfare using the spiritual weapons available (Ephesians 6:10-18). Prayer is one of the weapons used against the enemy: ...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:18). How are we to pray? We pray with child-like faith. God will replace worries and anxieties with His peace. The heavy loads carried will be lifted. When we have no words to say, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26-27).

“Mercy and forgiveness must be free and unmerited to the wrongdoer. If the wrongdoer has to do something to merit it, then it isn’t mercy, but forgiveness always comes at a cost to the one granting the forgiveness.”—Tim Keller

In order to live by the grace of God, we must be willing to walk in humility, instead of in pride. "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5)

The Scriptures describe those who foolishly walk in pride, as well as declaring the shame that they experience. "When pride comes, then comes shame…shame shall be the legacy of fools."

"Eternity is a depth which... no geometry can measure, no arithmetic calculate, no imagination conceive, and no rhetoric describe."

-Hannah More.

Christ prays that thy faith fail not; therefore, Christians, say, 'Why art thou cast down, O my soul?' - Thomas Watson

Better to be taught by suffering than to be taught by sin.

As Christ is called 'an advocate (1 John 2:2), so also "a 'propitiation': He has paid for the favor which He now intercedes for. -

Thomas Goodwin

A life of fervent serving of God is a pleasant life.

Jonathan Edwards

"Christianity without doctrine is like math without numbers and music without notes." -

Steven Lawson.
