QUOTES

Man is so needy, and God has so much to give. The needs of man could hardly be overstated. The resources of God could only be understated. Words like emptiness and deficiency describe humanity. Words like fullness and abundance describe our God.

Jesus expressed His desire to care for people in this intimate fashion, even though they might deserve the opposite. "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!" (Luke 13:34).

I want the whole Christ for my Savior, the Bible for my book, the entire Church for my fellowship, and the world for my mission field. ~

John Wesley~

If you want to know the will of God, then you must pray! This is exactly the direction the Apostles took when choosing a man to replace Judas. They needed God’s wisdom and knowledge to discern.

One day, we will go to Heaven and enter the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of God will come to Earth. But when the Bible tells us to seek the kingdom of God first, that means simply putting Jesus first in our lives.

Peace is priceless! Without peace, we humans are walking wrecks. Without the Holy Spirit leading us and guiding us in peace, we’re a mess. Today, let’s be quiet, take a breath, and live in peace.

“ ‘How would you distinguish a true servant of God from a traitor?’ ” ...you should take special notice of how a person speaks, not of other things, but of God.

~Harry Blamires~

We are called to work with, and for

people who are one illness away from financial ruin,

people who fear for their children’s safety when walking down the street, people who find those cultural elites mock and attack them because they do not signal “progressive virtues”, communities where politics means partisan policies on the one hand and acute apathy on the other a world in which, while all this is going on, the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer To such places, and the sad people who live in them, as well as to those who find themselves battered by circumstances beyond their control, the message of Jesus and His death and resurrection come as good news from a far country, news of surprising hope.

The Church, in the power of the Spirit, must signal in its life and teaching that there is:

more to being human than mere survival

more than hedonism and power

more than ambition and entertainment

Life… does have a purpose;

there is comfort for those weighed down by moral injury; narcissism is not the true “normal;” there is something more powerful than economics and bombs.

There really is a different way to be human, and it has been decisively launched with Jesus.

In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. – John 16:33

Satan can not and will never frustrate the designs and will of God.

If you wanted to know me, and I sent you 66 very detailed letters that told you everything you needed to know about me, wouldn’t you read them? Or would you lay them aside and just wait for me in a quiet room to directly “speak to your heart?” We live in a really dumb age.

If a man delights in free grace, and in the 'free gift', you can be sure he is a man who has seen his utter sinfulness and hopelessness and helplessness.

- Martyn Lloyd-Jones, London

To tell about Jesus without the cross is to betray him with a kiss.

"A Christian never falls asleep in the fire or in the water, but grows drowsy in the sunshine." -John Berridge.

"Sitting silently at the feet of Jesus is of more worth than all the clatter of Martha's dishes." — Charles Spurgeon

Agreeing or disagreeing with Scripture doesn’t alter its truth.

Dustin Benge

"Any teaching that sends Christians on a quest for a kind of holiness that is obtained by some single, religious, crisis experience rather than by daily submission to the will of God is both erroneous and dangerous." -Ernest Reisinger.

Believe me, the day is fast coming when the soul will be the one thing men will think of, and the only question of importance will be this: “Is my soul lost or saved?” -

J.C. Ryle

"When we get to the end of our ministry, one of our regrets will be that we did not preach more of Christ." — Charles Spurgeon
