"We never afford any real service to our divine Master by contending for his cause if it is not in his spirit. Nothing will so effectually recommend the truth as the distinguished amiableness of those who profess it."

Samuel Pearce

Our salvation rests on Christ alone & we obtain faith for the forgiveness of sins & the renewing of life only through the grace of the Holy Spirit. -

Arminius

“He that is come to Jesus Christ hath found in him a fountain of grace, sufficient, not only to pardon sin, but to sanctify the soul, and to preserve it from falling in this evil world.” -

John Bunyan

A heart changed by the mercies of God hates the things that are opposed to God.

It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict, God's job to judge, and my job to love.

~Billy Graham

Footprints

One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord. When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand and to my surprise, I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma. “Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don’t understand why, when I needed You most, You leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you.” ©1964 Margaret Fishback Powers

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. ~

Albert Pike

Seventeenth-century Puritan minister Richard Baxter echoed Jesus’ sentiment when he lamented, “Is it not enough that all the world is against us, but we must also be against one another? O happy days of persecution, which drove us together in love, whom the sunshine of liberty and prosperity crumbles into dust by our contentions!”

Craig Groeschel

A Kingdom-minded ministry is one whose leaders care more about what God is doing everywhere than what God is doing right here. Kingdom-minded leaders know it’s not just about their own ministry. A Kingdom-minded ministry is generous and eager to partner with others to get more done for the glory of God.

Craig Groeschel

Those who have it know it is not about them. It is not about their personal names. It is not about North Point, Elevation Church, Transformation Church, Gateway Church, Wesley United Methodist, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First Christian, Calvary Chapel, Hope City, Redeemer Covenant, Fresh Life, Lord of Life Lutheran, Holy Ghost Temple of Righteous Praise, or whatever your church is called. It is not about your student ministry, your children’s ministry, your YouTube presence, your church app, or your new logo or website. And it is certainly not about your name.

It is about Jesus.

Craig Groeschel

Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “I am surrounded by priests who repeat incessantly that their Kingdom is not of this world and yet they lay their hands on everything they can get.”

We’re not here to compete with other Christians. We, the Church — capital C, are ONE Body, a connected force, intended to work in complementary ways that build the whole, not the individual.

"He who surrenders himself without reservation to the temporal claims of a nation, or a party, or a class is rendering to Caesar that which, of all things, most emphatically belongs to God: himself." —

C.S. Lewis

Sin hardens the heart. Every sin makes room for another sin and it is always easier to sin again after you have sinned once.

Any theology that doesn't lead to knowing, loving, and enjoying God isn't a theology worth having.

"We can as soon run from ourselves, as run from death."

-William Gurnall.

"Sin, a little thing? It girded the Redeemer's head with thorns, and pierced his heart!" —

Charles Spurgeon

“The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit, and if you young converts want to be used of God, you must feed upon His Word."

You’ll never know your strength in God until you’re deserted by everybody.

"Let us daily ask the Lord to keep us in a truthful spirit, admitting the truth, both concerning ourselves and our Lord, feeling its power, and desiring to be taught still more of it." -

Charles Spurgeon
