ISAIAH 53

Jesus answered Pilate, "My kingdom is not of this world".

He did not come as a conquering King to defeat Rome, but as a suffering Servant to defeat Satan, sin, death, and hell.

Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, came as a man to die for us and reconcile humanity to God! Jesus came to fulfill prophecy:

Isaiah the prophet wrote about the coming of the Messiah, the King of kings, 700 years before the birth of Christ. Our King is NOT from this world! (Is 53) He didn't come from royalty: Jesus was not ushered in as royalty like the Jews expected their Messiah would be. Instead, He was known simply as a carpenter's son. This reality about Jesus led people to doubt His authority and ultimately reject Him.

"For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of the dry ground." v2

He had no beautiful appearance:  His appearance did not align with their expectations of a king. He lacked the outward beauty they anticipated in a ruler. "He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him." v2

He was rejected, refused, and forsaken:  Kings were usually revered by their people, not rejected. The Bible explicitly states that Jesus was rejected and forsaken. He faced contempt from the Pharisees, Sadducees, scribes, priests, and even the Romans—His people. His entire life, from birth to the cross, was marked by sorrows. This rejection didn't end there, he still suffers this rejection to this day.

"He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him." v3

He was punished: Kings typically punished and sent people to die, not the other way around. However, "surely" as expected, He bore our burdens and suffered for our sins, carrying them all upon Himself —He was punished on our behalf.

"Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows, Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted." v4

Not one of these descriptions will fit the mold of a king, but yet He is the King of kings.

Before unveiling and revealing who Jesus is, in the very first verse, Isaiah tells us that it is only for those who have believed their report, which is the Word of God given to the prophets about the coming Messiah, and for those who have seen the arm of the Lord, which is salvation that comes after believing. Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Is 53: 1

We can only recognize Him as our King once we believe in Him and experience the forgiveness of our sins!

After we are saved, just like Him, we no longer belong to this world — instead, we become sons and daughters of the King of kings.

Jesus will come back again to continue fulfilling the prophecy, this time revealed to John. He won't come back as a sacrificial lamb but as the Lion of Judah ready to wage war against His enemies. He will establish His glorious Kingdom in Jerusalem to rule over the nations. His triumphant return will mark the ultimate victory of righteousness over evil and the fulfillment of His divine plan for this world. Then, we, His church, will finally belong to this world, as everyone will recognize Him as THE KING!

"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He will rule them with a rod of iron. He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." Rev 19:11-16

THE TIME TO COME TO JESUS IS NOW!

Believe Jesus is the Son of God, who shed His blood for you, died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and resurrected during the third day, according to the Scriptures, so we can have eternal life with Him.

The moment you believe in Him and that He died for your sins - you're saved, justified, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready! The Holy Spirit will come to live inside of you - He will help you, guide you, change you, and be with you FOREVER!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

(John 3:16-18)
