Tisha B'Av

Tisha B'Av: A Day of Sorrow and Hope! Beginning tonight, 8/12, and lasting until tomorrow 8/13, Tisha B'Av commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Jewish Temples, the start of WWI in 1914, and the implementation of the "Final Solution" in 1941. Yet, on this very day,  as the temples fell, God transformed tragedy into divine presence by making us HIS TEMPLE by giving the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. From sorrow to divine presence for ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM!

Tisha B'Av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av, is a day of mourning for the Jews:

MODERN HISTORY:

1. Destruction of the First Temple (586 BCE)

The First Temple, built by King Solomon, was destroyed by the Babylonians under King Nebuchadnezzar.

2. Destruction of the Second Temple (70 CE)

The Second Temple, rebuilt after the return from Babylonian exile, was destroyed by the Romans during the Siege of Jerusalem.

3. The Bar Kokhba Revolt (135 CE)

The Romans crushed the Bar Kokhba revolt, a major Jewish uprising against the Roman Empire. The city of Betar, the last stronghold of the Jewish, fell on Tisha B'Av.

4. Expulsion of the Jews from England (1290)

On Tisha B'Av in 1290, King Edward I signed an edict expelling all Jews from England.

5. Expulsion of the Jews from Spain (1492)

The Alhambra Decree, issued by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain, ordered the expulsion of all Jews who refused to convert to Christianity. The deadline for leaving was set for Tisha B'Av in 1492.

6. The First Crusade (1096)

The First Crusade was launched, leading to widespread massacres of Jews in Europe, particularly in the Rhineland, on the way to the Holy Land.

7. World War I (1914)

World War I began on Tisha B'Av in 1914, leading to immense suffering and loss of life. The war and its aftermath led to significant conditions that eventually led to World War II and the Holocaust.

8. The Final Solution (1941)

Tisha B'Av in 1941 is significant because, on that date, Hermann Göring signed a directive ordering Reinhard Heydrich to prepare the "Final Solution of the Jewish". This directive effectively set the stage for the more organized and comprehensive genocide that followed.

9. Deportation from the Warsaw Ghetto (1942)

On Tisha B'Av in 1942, the mass deportation of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka extermination camp began. This marked the beginning of the systematic extermination of the Jewish population in the Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust.

10. Expulsion from Gaza (2005): The Jews were expelled from Gaza shortly after Tisha B'Av.

TISHA B'AV DURING BIBLICAL HISTORY:

👉🏼Genesis: On this day, Noah released the raven, symbolizing the Israelites' struggles with disobedience, sin, and their rejection of Jesus, their Messiah.

👉🏼Exodus: As Moses descended with the tablets, he found the Israelites worshipping a golden calf, breaking their covenant with God. Ironically, this was meant to be a day for drinking the cup of wine symbolizing their divine marriage, but they received the cup of wrath instead, resulting in 3,000 lives lost. Yet, God remained faithful to those who hadn’t worshipped the calf.

👉🏼Joshua: After surveying the Promised Land, the ten spies delivered a negative report, instilling fear among the Israelites. As a result, God decreed that no adults who listened to the bad report would enter the Promised Land, leading to 40 years of wandering in the desert.

👉🏼Judges: God empowered Samson on this day, giving him extraordinary strength to push down the temple pillars, tragically resulting in the death of 3,000 people.

TRIUMPH FOR BELIEVERS:

👉🏼Genesis:  On this day, Noah released the dove, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, which reveals how grace opens the door for the Church.

👉🏼Good Report: Caleb and Joshua brought back a positive report after surveying the Promised Land. Years later, Caleb, a Gentile, had the honor of being the first to step into the Promised Land—a symbol of the Church.

👉🏼Ruth: Ruth, a Gentile, married Boaz on the 9th of Av, marking the beginning of a remarkable lineage as she became the great-grandmother of David and continued the lineage of Jesus. This also symbolizes the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.

👉🏼 Song of Solomon: On this day, the Shulamite was escorted to the banquet house, symbolizing the joyous occasion of the Wedding Supper of the Lamb between Christ and His Church.

👉🏼 In the Gospels: This day holds divine significance as Jesus emerged from the waters after His baptism, restoring the Holy Spirit on earth and marking the start of His ministry.

👉🏼Acts: A miraculous event unfolded as the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles and followers of Jesus, marking the birth of the Church. On this day, 3,000 souls were touched and saved, forever changing history.

A DAY OF TRAGEDY AND TRIUMPH:

🔥Tisha B'Av is marked by both tragedy and triumph, with 3,000 lives lost during events like Moses' return with the tablets and Samson's display of power. Yet, in a remarkable REVERSAL, God poured out the Holy Spirit, leading to the Church's birth and the redemption of 3,000 souls. In His grace, God transformed sorrow into joy, extending His blessings for an incredible span of 2,000 years.

🙏🏼As we go through this day, we lift our prayers for Israel, asking for protection against its enemies: Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. This is one of the most dangerous times for Israel in a long while.

🌍Praying for all Jewish people around the world to be saved today! We also pray for God to protect them through the horrific times they will face during the 7-year Tribulation, where despite severe trials, a remnant of Israel will survive, recognize Jesus as their Messiah, and be finally saved, fulfilling the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!

🙌🏼We also lift our prayers for the Church as we eagerly await our Lord Jesus, our Savior! We long for the day when He will rescue us from this horrible world, gather His beloved bride, and we will joyfully celebrate together at the glorious Wedding Supper of the Lamb!

🔊CHURCH: LET'S KEEP PRAYING FOR ISRAEL AND LET'S CONTINUE TO KEEP LOOKING UP, OUR KING IS COMING!

📖"He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!" Rev 22:20

⚠️ IT'S TIME TO ACCEPT THE MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR!

👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Believe Jesus is the Son of God, who shed His blood for you, died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and resurrected during the third day, according to the Scriptures, so we can have eternal life with Him.

The moment you believe in Him and that He died for your sins - you're saved, justified, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready!

The Holy Spirit will come to live inside of you - He will help you, guide you, change you, and be with you FOREVER!!

📖"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)
