In The Middle Of a Hard Time

We know that for those who love God all things work together for good. – Romans 8:28

When you’re in a middle of a hard time or the world seems to have gone crazy, it’s hard to imagine God working everything together for the good. Everything? Surely it doesn’t mean… you fill in the blanks. But what Christian hasn’t clung to this verse like a drowning person to a life raft? All things are possible with God. He is able to use whatever there is in your life for the good. He does this for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

Loving God seems simple, but it can be misunderstood. The Scribes and Pharisees thought they loved God by adhering to the minutiae of the law, but Jesus pointed out that their hearts were hard and they were full of hypocrisy. Those who receive salvation by grace reach out to others in love. Loving God involves caring for the weak, providing justice for those who have been wronged, and speaking up for the innocent.

God works things out for the good of those called according to His purpose. Do you know what your life’s purpose is? What makes you who you are? Start with what you have and follow the Lord’s leading on how to use it for His glory. Be confident that as you love God and are called according to His purpose, He will work out all things for your good.
