Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur! Atonement Day! Repentance and forgiveness Day!

It’s the only day the priest would enter the Holy of Holies to receive forgiveness for the sins of Israel. Jesus, The Messiah, shed His blood on the cross to pay for our sins so we can boldly enter God's presence!!

Today is Yom Kippur! As a Jew, this celebration involves a 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer. It serves as your last appeal, your final opportunity to seek God's favor, demonstrate your repentance, and reconcile with God.

In Lev 16 God was very specific as to how and when this needed to be done. He says to Aaron, (high priest), that only during this time of the year, he was able to come inside the veil, the Holy of Holies, before the mercy seat, otherwise he would die. He needed the blood of a young bull as a sin offering for himself and his house. The bull's blood was to be sprinkled on the ark of the covenant.

He had to wash his body with holy water and wear the holy white linen garments. He had to take two goats from the congregation. One was chosen for the Lord as a sin offering, and its blood was sprinkled on the ark of the covenant for the forgiveness of Israel's sins. The other goat was taken as a scapegoat.

Today! Jesus Christ is the MOST HIGH PRIEST! He shed His blood so He could present Himself as a sacrifice to the Father for the forgiveness of all people's sins! The sufficiency and completeness of Christ's sacrifice can be easily seen in the two goats!

The purpose of the blood of the first goat that was sprinkled on the ark was to appease the wrath of God for another year.

The second goat removed the sins of the people into the wilderness where they were forgotten and no longer stuck to the people.

Sin is both propitiated and expiated God’s way—only by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. "Propitiation" means calming God's anger, and "expiation" is the act of atoning for sin and removing it from the sinner.

Both together are achieved eternally by the blood of Jesus Christ. When He sacrificed Himself on the cross, He appeased God’s wrath against sin, taking that wrath upon Himself!

“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!” (Romans 5:9).

The act of the second goat removing sin was like a real-life story illustrating God's promise. God said He would take our sins away and forget them completely, just like how the East is always far from the West! (Psalm 103:12).

Jesus has made a way for us so we can come humbly, believing in Him, repenting, and allowing His precious blood to cleanse us, making us new. He dresses us in white fine linen garments to enter boldly into the presence of God, not just once a year, but at any time throughout the year! No bull of goat sacrifice, the veil of the temple has been torn from top to bottom so we can enter boldly the presence of God!!

IT IS TIME TO ENTER INTO HIS PRESENCE THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS, RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND BE SAVED! HE'S WAITING FOR YOU!! IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF HIS BLOOD!!

Believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and resurrected on the third day, according to the Scriptures, so we can have eternal life with Him.

The moment you believe in Him and that He died for your sins - you're saved, justified, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready!

The Holy Spirit will come to live inside of you - He will help, guide, change, and be with you FOREVER!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
