Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen. –
Revelation 7:12
Sometimes when things go awry, such as financial problems, crippling pain, or broken relationships, you may wonder where God is. The seventh chapter of Revelation describes a great multitude of people of every language, who came out of the great tribulation, with one heart and voice praising God. Undoubtedly, praise and thanksgiving were regular habits for each of them before they suffered for His name.
The angels and elders also praised God, attributing seven things to Him. Blessing. It is common these days to hear people curse God’s name or curse others in His name. Let your words be counterculture and bless the name of the Lord and bless others. Glory. Glory is God’s powerful, magnificent essence. Believe in God’s presence and pray for His glory to be revealed in your worship. Wisdom. All true wisdom comes from God. These believers who came out of the Great Tribulation knew that in God’s wisdom, His big picture was greater than anything in this life.
Thanksgiving. The Bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17). Be grateful for the good in your life—provision, loved ones, salvation. Honor. Believers who know who God is, and recognize how vulnerable people are, know to esteem His greatness. Power. Any authority that a person might have on this earth politically, financially, or influentially is nothing compared to the Lord. Might. All things are possible with God. He is able to answer your prayers and ultimately His purposes will be accomplished.
