Are sealed by the promise of the Holy Spirit! The same Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us! He's our teacher, our helper, and our guide! The glorious presence of God within us and the creative force that puts our engine into motion!
Before Jesus ascended He said: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
While in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was poured out on specific individuals for specific purposes. The Spirit was often described as "coming upon" or "filling" these individuals, empowering them for service to God.
For example, the Spirit came upon the judges of Israel, such as Othniel (Judges 3:10), Gideon (Judges 6:34), and Samson (Judges 13:25), empowering them to lead the Israelites to victory over their enemies.
Also, the Holy Spirit was poured out on the king of Israel, as a symbol of his divine authority and power - like Saul (1 Samuel 10:6) and David (1 Samuel 16:13) as an example.
Jesus made the Holy Spirit available to all who believe in Him through His sacrifice on the cross - introducing the new covenant. Just as His apostles received Him, we also get baptized with the Holy Spirit into one body. He is the one who comes to give us life - the same resurrection life that brought Jesus from the dead. It's through Him that we are able to understand the Word of God and want to follow Jesus - He is The One who fuels, operates, and controls our life.
He is the source of all our gifts: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation of tongues - "One and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." (1 Cor 12:8-11 )
He is the source of all our fruits: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." (Gal 5:22-23)
He is the promise and guarantee to our salvation, who seals us until the day of redemption - the rapture: "Having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory." (Ephesians 1:13-14).
The promise of the Holy Spirit is a reminder of God's faithfulness and commitment, a reminder that we are loved and secure in Christ FOREVER!!
With Him we can do everything, apart from Him we can't do ANYTHING!
Believe in Jesus today!
Believe that He died on the cross for your sins, and was buried and resurrected on the third day!
Receive the Holy Spirit of promise!!
He will help you, guide you, fill you - He will be your best friend and seal you until the day of redemption!
That day is the rapture of the Church, which is about to happen. The Church edge of Grace is coming to an end!
Receive HIM today! Do NOT wait!
