WAYS TO PRAY FOR YOUR CHILD'S TEACHERS THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

I asked several real-life teachers the following question, “How would you want the parents of your students to pray for you this year?” Here is what they shared:

Pray for teachers to be constantly reminded of their calling to pour into the next generation. Especially, on difficult days.

Pray for peace and calmness in moments of stress, chaos, or rebellion by students. Remember, it’s one teacher with many students.

Pray for teachers to possess the wisdom to show grace and mercy when necessary. But, also be able to discern when discipline and sternness are fitting.

Pray for their ability to effectively teach the subject matter to all students in a way that they can understand.

Pray for teachers to have patience, strength, and understanding of each child’s journey. Being able to know where the child is coming from, and their background.

Pray for the parents’ acceptance of teachers, realizing that they’re not last year’s teachers and that this is a completely new school year.

Pray for unity. Unity within the teacher-parent relationships, and within the teacher-student relationships.

Pray for their physical, emotional, and spiritual endurance. That they would be able to maintain consistent momentum throughout the entire school year, and not lose heart.

Pray for their personal life. Please, don’t forget that they have responsibilities outside of the classroom as well. Many of them have interests, hobbies, to-do lists, spouses, children, friends, and churches they serve in.

Pray for those who may be Christians. Many times they believe their primary calling and mission field is to reflect Jesus in their classroom. And, that is often very, very difficult for them to do in a non-Christian environment.
