The Lord Knows Who You ARE

The Lord knows the days of the blameless… in the days of famine they have abundance.

Psalm 37:18-19

In these uncertain times, you may be tempted to worry. Today’s verse reassures believers that no matter what outside circumstances are, God will take care of them. As the song by Chris Tomlin says, “He’s a good, good Father.” God meets His children’s needs, but He often does that through His children.

The apostle Paul said to the church in Ephesus, “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need” (Ephesians 4:28). James, showing that deeds work with faith, said, “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” (James 2:15-16).

The apostle Paul commended the Macedonians for giving to those in need and encouraged the Corinthians to do the same. Paul’s words testify that God provides for His people through His people: “Your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness” (2 Corinthians 8:14).

God takes care of His people. He provides each with gifts that will meet others’ needs. The apostle Peter says, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). Pray that believers will be ministers of God’s grace and love.
