Thanks, Due To Him

I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His righteousness.

Psalm 7:17

Everything in life seeks equilibrium. From the water level on Earth to the power in your relationships, balance is as much of a key as it is a goal. Spiritually speaking, many people struggle with welcoming a Holy God into the workings of their everyday life – they feel unworthy.

Across the centuries, humankind has developed varied structures of worthiness to make people feel “acceptable” to God. They have deemed that works of charity, acts of contrition, special rituals, and even giving financial offerings may persuade the divine Being into considering their efforts “good enough” to draw near to Him.

However, the apostle Paul summarized how unsuccessful human efforts are at attaining righteousness, “I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing” (Romans 7:18-19).

God addressed the plight of hopelessly unrighteous humanity Himself. The Son offered His own blood as payment for the sin that kept you estranged from the Father. “For our sake he made Him be sin who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”

(2 Corinthians 5:21).

In Jesus, you have been declared acceptable to share life with your Creator God.

Aren’t you grateful God has gone to such great lengths to have fellowship with you? Thank Him today that he balanced the scales of righteousness through His Son and opens the door of fellowship to you and all who will come in.
