Sufficiency in all Things With All Grace

God is able to make all grace abound to you so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8

Do you see yourself as an answer to someone’s prayer today? It may not have made it onto your To-Do list this morning but, if you are paying attention, you could end your day in that category!

In the book of Luke, Chapter 10, Jesus tells an interesting story about an unfortunate traveler who gets waylaid on his journey. As he is laying injured and helpless beside the road, a couple of very religious and high-status individuals approach, but each of them turns away to avoid dealing with the man. Imagine his disappointment if he were conscious! The third person to travel by was a Samaritan. In the culture wars of that day, he would have been the last person the traveler would expect to help him. However, he was the very one who not only came to his aid but personally guaranteed his full recovery.

Along your path, you will meet fellow travelers on life’s journey. Few people you meet will be collapsed beside the road, but you can be sure that all of them are wounded. As a follower of Christ, when you invited God’s Spirit to inhabit your life, you were fitted with a first-aid kit for other humans. The generous provisions God has given you, such as kindness, faith, peace, generosity, and joy, are not only for your use or comfort! They are intended for you to employ in assisting others.

Ask the Lord to help you see opportunities to bless someone else from the abundance of His provisions, and be aware of those your culture might call undeserving!
