Set Your Heart to Understand, And To Humble Yourself Before Your God

When Daniel set his heart on understanding, God heard him. His choice was to trust the Lord, even though he didn't comprehend what God was doing – it was a humbling experience. Many of us have a desperate desire to understand but can't. If we did, we would be like God.

What God was about to reveal to Daniel was enormous - it revolved around His plan and the appointed time for Israel and Jerusalem. God sought a humble heart, one willing to discard any opinion or preconceived idea, and an empty mind ready for God to pour forth His revelation. God granted Daniel the ability to comprehend this revelation, although the extent remains uncertain. Daniel's task was to capture and transcribe it, as that was his assigned job.

"Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words." (Dan 10:12)

All of us are desperate to understand what God is saying and doing, but we must humbly acknowledge that we cannot grasp it entirely. God will provide us with the knowledge we need as we grow and develop in character. We will never fully comprehend the entirety of God's Word. If we did, we would become like God, possessing His mind, His ways, and His thoughts. This desire for divine knowledge was the same longing that led humanity to sin initially when they ate the forbidden fruit.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Is 55:8-9)

We need to approach knowledge in a profoundly humble manner, accepting the fact that we must set aside our personal opinions. God possesses the full picture, while we can only glimpse a small corner of it. We have limitations in our understanding, and we won't be able to comprehend it entirely. This is where faith enters and fills the gaps.

Let's approach God with humility, having an empty mind prepared to be filled with knowledge that we can truly handle. This will help us keep our hearts in check and grounded, while continuously growing in God's wisdom.

This is the best knowledge we can have. Believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and resurrected during the third day, so we can have eternal life with Him.

The moment you believe in Him and that He died for your sins - you're saved, justified, sealed until the day of redemption, and rapture ready!

The Holy Spirit will come to live inside of you - He will help you, guide you, change you, and be with you FOREVER!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
