Give up the struggle and the fight; relax in the omnipotence of the Lord Jesus; look up into His lovely face and as you behold Him, He will transform you into His likeness. You do the beholding––He does the transforming. There is no short-cut to holiness. ~Alan Redpath~
The city of Corinth was the homosexual center of the Roman Empire, yet Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 6:11, "And that is what some of you were [past tense]. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." In God's eyes, homosexuality is unacceptable (as are a multitude of other sinful activities) -- but it is changeable. How? By the blood of Jesus. Are you struggling with sin? Only Jesus has the power to change us from the inside out -- whether from the sin of arrogance, gluttony, alcoholism, adultery, or homosexuality. If you are struggling with sin, will you turn and repent today?

If anyone asks you questions about biblical doctrine, you have to be able to prove it to them by showing where it is written in Scripture––always. Don't believe everything you think. You cannot be trusted to tell yourself the truth. Stay in the Word. ~Jerry Bridges~
The happy sequence culminating in fellowship with God is penitence, pardon, and peace - the first we offer, the second we accept, and the third we inherit. ~Charles Brent~
“Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile.”

James 4:12, "There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?" It is a common fault within the church to look down our noses at those who seem to live more sin-filled lives. The Bible tells us we are all in the same boat -- we all deserve the harshest sentence possible because we all have sinned and death is the penalty. The only difference is salvation -- which is a free gift offered by God to everyone. God did not call us to be judges.

The good news—that Jesus satisfied the demands of eternal justice on behalf of sinners—makes no sense if people don’t understand they’ve sinned against God.

Our belief about the Bible’s nature, inerrancy, and authority will inevitably determine whether we trust God’s Word or trust ourselves, whether we view Scripture as a binding decree from our divine Judge, or set ourselves up as Scripture’s judges

Redemption does not only look back to Calvary. It looks forward to the freedom in which the redeem stand. Precisely because they have been redeemed at such a cost…. ~Leon Lamb Morris
“Grace bases her teaching upon the great facts in which her first grand revelation of herself was made, and finds all her reaching power in those mighty memories.”

The heart of the gospel is redemption, and the essence of redemption is the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ. ~C.H. Spurgeon~
When Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross, it was not the blood of a martyr or the blood of one man for another; it was the life of God poured out to redeem the world. ~Oswald Chambers~
