QUOTES

Once you've established faith boundaries that prioritize and protect your time with Jesus, you can freely say "yes" to the opportunities that are in line with your passion and interests. You can also say "no" to the yes monster that tries to rob you of God's best and to dilute your focus.

Truly, we need the Lord Jesus as much now for living the Christian life as we needed Him at the beginning to be born again into it.

The beginning of the race is always easier than the middle and end.

It's impossible to do something kind for someone else, without doing something kind for yourself.

It's ok to fall down seven times, as long as you stand up eight.

Have you ever looked at someone and thought, "He will never, ever, accept Jesus" and then been surprised at how that same person was saved and turned their life around? The story is always the same: There was a turning point, a crisis perhaps, and someone was there to lead toward Jesus. Are you still present in the lives of those who seem to have rejected Jesus? Don't give up. God hasn't.

My future is as bright as the promises of God.

~Adoniram Judson~

No matter how dark your life may seem, no matter how dirty your secrets are, Jesus has time for you. Whatever your need is, Jesus wants to fill it. No matter how out of touch or distant you feel from Him, Jesus wants to come to you and give you His light of truth. As a believer, there is nothing too big or insurmountable that can separate Him from you. When things get out of hand in your life, Jesus is there; He is the constant even when we feel like giving up. Jesus sees the bigger picture for your life, so you can trust Him for the results.

As one year comes to an end and another one begins, it is a great time to evaluate how we are doing and where we are going. We want to make sure that we are living our lives the way they ought to be lived because for some of us, this may be the last year.

Surrender your heart to Him and offer up your requests to Him in faith.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6).

Human experience can be quite weighty. Living in a fallen world brings deep conflict, severe pain and intimidating events. This is not necessarily BAD. Uncomfortable? Yes. Unpleasant? Yes. But...thoroughly refining.

The phrase, “In Jesus’ name” is not an empty motto or talisman. It is a declaration of truth! Cancer is not in charge, Jesus is. The grumpy neighbor doesn’t rule the world— Jesus, you do! Just speak the word, Jesus! Since God works, prayer works. Since you matter to God, your prayers matter in heaven.

You are never without hope, because you’re never without prayer.

Jesus won't force His way into anyone's life... Let Him in.

We need to be built up in Him, having our lives developed by His work in us. We need to be established in the faith, allowing Him to stabilize us through the study of His word. This will lead us to overflowing appreciation and gratitude that "Christ is all and in all" ( Colossians 3:11 ). Truly, we need the Lord Jesus as much now for living the Christian life as we needed Him at the beginning to be born again into it.

Bob Hoekstra

I often hear criticism voiced against Christian leaders who are courageous enough to take a stand for the Word of God. Many times their greatest detractors are those who have similar roots and also profess to have the same faith in our Lord. However, if we examine and listen very carefully whenever we hear a person of God being criticized, we will often find at the source vanity, contention, conflict, and disharmony.

The Lord has called His people to Him in unity. This doesn’t mean we all have to be the same – completely identical to one another in every form of doctrine, style of worship, etc. However, the most critically important aspects of our faith the Lord has made crystal clear. (For example, Ephesians 4:4-6: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”)

Apart from the bright hope of the Gospel, everything

God is still using people of all ages. Sometimes we can assume that people close to the edges of life, both young and old, are not able to contribute in meaningful ways to this world, not to mention God’s work in this world. But God is not limited, and neither should we be limited by cultural biases. You are never too young and you are never too old for God to use you in wonderful ways and to have great plans for your life.

Whatever pain you have endured this year, remember this verse, “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you” (1 Peter 5:10).

Princes, kings, and other rulers of the world have used all their strength and cunning against the Church, yet it continues to endure and hold its own.

Believe this:

[God] won’t let you stumble,

your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.

Not on your life! Israel’s

Guardian will never doze or sleep.

God’s your Guardian,

right at your side to protect you —

Shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moon stroke.

God guards you against every evil, He guards your very life.

He guards you when you leave and when you return, He guards you now, He guards you always.

Through faith in Jesus, we have been delivered from him who walks about as a roaring lion, and from the ultimate devouring lion: death itself.

 Ray Comfort

The manner in which we received the Lord is the very same manner in which we are to walk in Him. "As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him." We received Him by grace, we must walk by grace.

Bob Hoekstra

None of us knows how big God's plans might be for us. Just yield to His will.

We Don't Give Up or Turn Back Aside!

Pray about it as much as you talk about it...

( Colossians 2:6-7 )

The manner in which we received the Lord is the very same manner in which we are to walk in Him. "As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him." We received Him by grace, we must walk by grace. We were born again by the Spirit, we must walk by the Spirit. Furthermore, when we first received Christ, He was our only hope. Now, we are to walk with Him the same way.

R.A. Torrey shared what has become one of my favorite quotes, “People who pray for power but neglect the Bible abound in the church. But the power that belongs to God is stored up in the great reservoir of His own Word, the Bible. We cannot obtain or maintain God’s power in our own lives or in our work unless there is deep and frequent meditation on the Word of God.”

It’s not enough to read the Bible once and then move on. Each of us needs daily manna from heaven that God gives as we come back to His Word each day.

It’s one thing to get into the Word of God, but it’s another thing to let the Word of God get into you.

"The gospel is a declaration of the Trinity in action." -

James Packer.

In every pew, you are sure to find someone from all walks of life.

What do I pray when I don’t feel like praying:

1. Confess my sin.

2. Use the prayers of Scripture.

3. Recite God’s attributes.

4. Praise God for His blessings.

5. Pray through a prayer list.

6. Focus on the needs of others.

7. Rejoice that Jesus is praying for me.

I love to see and hear what the body of Christ is doing!

I love to see and hear what the body of Christ is doing! We need to be more vocal now than ever before in our lives for all that God's word says.

"If we would do much for God, we must ask much of God… I cannot insist on this too much. Prayer is the first thing, the second thing, and the third thing necessary for a minister, especially in seasons of revival… Pray, then, my dear brother, pray, pray, pray." -Edward Payson

The real truth about God’s love is that He loves you so much that He wants you just how you are, but He also loves you so much that He won’t leave you that way. God’s love isn’t just about accepting you, it’s about changing you.

It is not pardon so much that makes the Christian's heart rejoice, but Christ the pardoner. Charles Spurgeon

Feelings can make or break a habit.

If we’re going to change our habits, we’re going to have to engage our hearts because our feelings can make our break habits. Get into the Word of God and let Him inform your feelings this coming year!

If your life were to end today, would you be able to say, like the apostle Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” (2 Timothy 4:7 NLT)? Paul was saying, “I didn’t stray from the truth of the gospel. I lived it, and I proclaimed it.”

It isn’t a matter of being able to say, “I was flawless and perfect. I never made a mistake.” Rather, would you be able to say, “I kept with it. When I fought, I took on a few black eyes, but I kept fighting. When I ran, I stumbled a few times, but I got up and ran even harder to catch up. I finished the course. I have remained faithful”?

If your life is right with God, then you’ll welcome the thought of Christ returning at any moment. You’ll rejoice in it. Like the apostle John, you will say, “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20 NLT).

The great British preacher C. H. Spurgeon said, “The righteous carves his name upon the rock, but the wicked writes his remembrance in the sand. The righteous man ploughs the furrows of earth, and sows a harvest here, which shall never be fully reaped till he enters the enjoyments of eternity; but as for the wicked, he ploughs the sea . . . the place that knew him shall know him no more forever.”

If you’re eagerly awaiting the return of Christ, if you’re ready for Him to come back, then it will impact the way that you’re living today. The Bible tells us, “And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure” (1 John 3:3 NLT).
