Religious rituals are helpful only if they are done with an attitude of love and obedience to the Lord. Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). He created you to find your greatest joy and fulfillment in loving Him. So thank God for His unconditional love today. Allow yourself to spend time falling in love with Him. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one (Matthew 5:37).

The starting and finishing line of our race is the completed work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. We have already won the race. As a result, we have a place reserved in heaven, so let's not be confused regarding Paul's instruction. He's not talking about earning salvation, but what we do with the talents God has given us.
