QUOTES

As we receive personal instruction from the Lord it is important to remember His lesson first applies to us individually -- not necessarily to everyone in our lives.

• Jesus will return in the clouds.

• He will raise the dead in Christ.

• He will transform the bodies of living believers into glorified, resurrection bodies.

It Might Be Today

Our lives are to be under the rule (the dominion) of God's will revealed in His word. When we are disobedient to God's will, sin is dominating our lives. The Lord certainly wants us to get out from under the domination of sin and to live obediently. The only path to such liberation is the grace of God. "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace" (Romans 6:14).

The Israelites were set apart by God to be His own. But they drifted away from Him. They would take His blessings for granted, turn their backs on Him, and follow after idols. Yet God never left them without a message from Him, without a prophet or a leader who would reveal His heart. He was forever calling them back to Himself.

The driver on the highway is safe not when he reads the signs, but when he obeys them.

~A.W. Tozer~

There is nothing attractive about the gospel to the natural man; the only man who finds the gospel attractive is the man who is convicted of sins.

~Oswald Chambers~

You may think you can live fine without Christ, but you cannot afford to die without Him.

~C.H. Spurgeon~

The Jews are God’s Chosen people. We cannot place ourselves in opposition to Israel without detriment to ourselves. ~Billy Graham~

When you struggle with your faith when you face the dark night of the soul when you are not sure of where you stand with the things of God, flee to the Scriptures. It is from those pages that God the Holy Spirit will speak to you, minister to your soul, and strengthen the faith that He gave to you in the first place. ~R.C. Sproul~

“If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me.” ~Robert M. McCheyne

Too often we approach the Bible as a philosophy or a set of rules without the depth and richness that comes from a spiritual perspective. Is there a disconnection between your Bible study and your real life? Maybe it's time to change your approach.

The next time you have an opportunity to treat someone justly or to act with mercy, offer what you are doing to the Lord as worship.

If our circumstances find us in God, we shall find God in our circumstances.

~George Muller~

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope. Lamentations 3:21

Jeremiah didn’t enjoy a life of luxury. In fact, all of God’s servants in the Bible had many challenges. Despite what some television preachers may say, God’s aim isn’t to give you a comfortable life. His aim is for you to be more like His Son. This also involves many challenges. He does bless you and answer your prayers, but there will be some rough spots. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all”

When the Devil tempted Jesus for forty days in the wilderness, it was God’s Word that Jesus used to defeat the enemy (see Luke 4). Jesus said, “It is written,” as a reference to each of His quotations from God’s Word. In the same way, as Christian soldiers, we must make certain to have God’s Word stored securely in our hearts to the Holy Spirit may bring it forward at the appropriate time. This is how we achieve complete and total victory.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn
