"Get to know God and live in a way that honors Him." —Colin Smith

"The greatest anointing of the Spirit of God comes upon my life when I am sitting before the Lord and outlining my message" -Chuck Smith

Man’s only righteousness is the mercy of God in Christ, when it is offered by the Gospel and received by faith John Calvin

If we have gained a true understanding of this Epistle [The book of Romans], we have an open door to all the most profound treasures of Scripture John Calvin

"We do not expect to change the will of God, but we believe our prayer to be a part of his will." - Charles Spurgeon

Come poor, lost, undone sinner, come just as you are to Christ. George Whitefield

Men walk and talk as if this world were all when comparatively it is nothing... -John Owen -

"God is guiding us along the right paths, even when we cannot see the destination." — David Jeremiah

It can be confusing when we pay too much attention to the teaching of man versus the Lord. Jesus died so that we might live. His life is a ransom for ours. Once again, remember what Paul teaches, "You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings." Living by the new covenant of grace provides a "relationship-based life," which depends upon God's sufficiency. This results in spiritual liberty.

For Christians, all suffering has an expiration date.

be reminded that Jesus brought an ending date for the pain. He promised it would not last forever!

Think of a deeply rooted tree that is soaking up the nutrients from the soil and growing every day. In the same way, to “remain” or “abide” refers to staying in a given place. It’s staying in fellowship with Jesus.

As we abide, we start sinking our roots deeply into Christ, we will start praying for what God wants us to pray for. That is the objective of prayer. It isn’t getting God to do what we want Him to do. Rather, it’s doing what God wants us to do.

“Life isn’t an accumulation of abstractions such as love and truth, sin and salvation, atonement, and holiness; life is…names and fingerprints, street numbers and local weather, a lamb for supper, and a flat tire in the rain. God reveals Himself to us not in a metaphysical formulation or a cosmic fireworks display but in the kind of stories we use to tell our children who they are and how to grow up as human beings…The story is the Gospel way. The story isn’t imposed on our lives; it invites us into its life…The Holy Spirit weaves all this storytelling into the vast and holy literary architecture that reveals God to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…to get this revelation right, we enter into the story.” Eugene Peterson

One of the greatest rewards that we ever receive for serving God is the permission to do still more for him. ~C.H. Spurgeon~

One thing we can't avoid is grief. We'll all experience loss and the death of loved ones so the Lord gave us comfort in His Word and outlets of prayer and the community of faithful believers. Whatever state you're in today, ask the Holy Spirit for His consolation and guidance.

“The light that shines from the Crucified is a light…which both illuminates the obscurity of being and overcomes the darkness of non-being.” — Nicolas Berdyaev

I am thy servant to do Thy will, and that will is sweeter to me than position or riches or fame, and I choose it above all things on earth or in heaven. ~A.W. Tozer~

When God is the focus of our lives and we rest fully in Him trusting in His supernatural plan even during times when we're waiting with unanswered prayers, joy springs up!

"Let all things else go, that you might be filled with God." — Charles Spurgeon
