QUOTES

“Scripture is in no such peril as to need help from thy reasoning.” — Tertullian

“… one of the best indications I've seen of the Spirit's work in someone's life is that he (or she) develops a newfound love of reading. — Kevin DeYoung, Don’t Be True to Yourself, 57. “When we depart from God’s way, we depart from God’s protection.” — Stephen Charnock, Divine Providence, 99. “God is to be loved more than His mercies.” —Thomas Watson

When you look at the complexity of what students are learning in their schools versus the simplicity of what we’re teaching them in our churches… it can be pretty embarrassing. We don’t have to dumb it down, we must disciple them up. They can handle it

The only-loving, overly-nice all-inclusive non-judging tolerate Jesus often presented today would’ve never been crucified 2,000 yrs ago. People yelled “crucify”, because He said He is God, He is the Only Way, “you’re either with Me or against Me”, and called everyone sinners.

An ever-changing world desperately needs a never-changing God.

Not everyone gets to “Rest In Peace”. Only those who know the Prince of Peace do.

"You are safe. You are side by side with Jesus in holy service." — Charles Spurgeon "We are entrusted with great power. Do we pray for our country?" — Charles Spurgeon

"It was God's Word that made us; is it any wonder that his Word should sustain us?" — Charles Spurgeon "It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness." — Charles Spurgeon "Almost persuaded to be a Christian is like the man who was almost pardoned, but he was hanged." — Charles Spurgeon "Whenever God determines to do a great work, he first sets his people to pray." — Charles Spurgeon "The church may go through her dark ages, but Christ is with her in the midnight." — Charles Spurgeon "There is no greater coward in this world than the man who never will acknowledge that he is afraid." — Charles Spurgeon "Ah, Lord Jesus! I never knew your love until I understood the meaning of your death." — Charles Spurgeon
