QUOTES

“You are special, and so is your neighbor”—that part is essential: that you're not the only special person in the world. The person you happen to be with at the moment is loved, too.

~ Fred Rogers

“In the name of Jesus” is the key that unlocks the door of prayer and the treasury of God’s grace. It’s the weapon that defeats the enemy and the motivation that compels our sacrifice and service. ~Warren W. Wiersbe~

“In every Christian’s heart there is a cross and a throne, and the Christian is on the throne till he puts himself on the cross; if he refuses the cross, he remains on the throne…We all want to be saved but we insist that Christ do all the dying.” — A.W. Tozer

Life is not fair, but Jesus is not finished.- Margaret Feinberg

Therefore everything that you enjoy in Christ–as a Christian, as a person who trusts Christ–is owing to the death of Christ. ~John Piper~

It is not your hold of Christ that saves, but His hold of you. ~C. H. Spurgeon~

Those who think that the abundant life consists of finding one’s way around suffering and hardship have a misguided perception of what Jesus promised. Jesus’ life and example teach that the way to a full life consists of service, hardship, opposition, pain, and suffering.

Believers look at Jesus’ life and see that God’s best plan for His Son was to stay close to Him through the most unimaginable of circumstances. The New Testament shows many times over that God was with His Son until the end when Jesus took our sin upon Himself and suffered on the Cross.

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And that which I can do, by the grace of God, I will do. ~D.L. Moody~

If we want to learn to be successful with both relating to our people and setting our own schedules, we first need to tackle a topic that Jesus lived out. Scads of blog posts have been written about it; scores of sermons preached about it. But do we really understand what it means to live by it? I’m talking about priorities.

When the “rooster crows” in our lives—when a warning, a reminder, a wake-up call stirs our conscience and opens our eyes to the truth—we can choose to respond with repentance like Peter or with despair, like Judas.

Life or death.

When facing trials, we often ask the Lord to deliver us from sorrow, grief, pain, and temptation, but we forget He is with us through these things. He never forsakes us. If we remain submitted to God’s will, He will sustain us through life’s greatest trials. He will always be with us.

Raul Ries

You are free to abandon your wife when Jesus abandons his. —John Piper

Stop assigning extra things to the crucifixion and resurrection. What Christ did for us then is astonishing enough without willful, and often selfish, embellishment.

Jesus did die so that we would not have to. He suffered on the cross in order to save us from the grips of death and darkness. Without Him and His death, we would have all been doomed to suffer for our sins. Christ saved us from that fate when He died on the cross and rose again on the third day. The Resurrection, however, does not mean that we can simply sit back and enjoy the knowledge that we are saved. Christ made it clear over and over in the Scriptures that He also expects us to take up our cross and follow Him

Christian life today is full of programs, conferences, and the next great book to read and I love all of that but there are more Christian things to do than you can shake a stick at, and the number increases every day. These are all are wonderful ways to grow your faith and increase your participation in Christian fellowship.

The point of Jesus' death on the cross was, Jesus died so that we could have more than an influx of Christian activity. He died so that we could invest in deepening our intimacy with God.

Don’t let your Christian walk be so bogged down with “things to do” that you forget to be with Him.

Throughout scripture we see people getting alone to pray and we see Jesus doing the same. time alone is when we get refreshed preventing burnout.

Jesus is normally portrayed and remembered as being calm, soothing, and wise. There was one issue, however, that so enraged Him that He began to, very literally, flip tables. Religious hypocrisy was the most surefire way to enrage Christ.

Religious hypocrisy was one thing that really got under Jesus’ skin, and this was especially true with the religious dignitaries of His day. What was supposed to be a pure connected relationship with God became a performance of false spirituality.
