For years I had a hard time striving for excellence. 80% was okay. Then as a believer, we are taught not to strive with a man so I used that as an excuse not to be the best, a top gun but now all that is changed, I want to be the best at all I can. I have come to the realization that this means letting go of some things to make room for other things. It's hard to let go. I have thought about legacy and what it means to me. What it is I want to be remembered by is not a man who does everything and is good at nothing but rather a man in the will of God striving to be a great father, son, servant, and not just good but great at the calling that God has for me. Callings can be like seasons in life. Some are for life and others are only for a time. The ability to let go and move forward is the harsh reality we all have to face and it is a part of growth.

There is a tendency today among some individuals, and in some churches, to dilute the Word of God with the views of culture. This is nothing new. It comes from one of Satan’s original lies. When in the Garden, in Genesis 3:1, he asked Eve, “Did God actually say… ?” Today, he utters the same crafty question to both believers and non-believers: Did God actually say anything about abortion? Did God actually say anything about human sexuality? Did God actually say anything about money management? The church cannot stand when it mixes the truths of God with the false doctrines of the world.
Standards cannot be lowered or God dishonored for the sake of a “more equitable society.
Compromising God’s values with the world’s values brings disastrous consequences to God’s people.
Seeking His face takes time immersed in the Word, “studying to show yourself approved” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV), becoming a vessel the Lord can use.
Pray for Christ-followers in America to hold onto truth without compromise. Pray that believers would be ready to speak the truth, in love, when opportunities arise.

Jesus tells his followers to watch. “Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—lest he comes suddenly and finds you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all; Stay awake”
It’s easy to be caught up in the cares of this world. What is in your hand to do? Do it for the Lord until He comes. Be faithful in prayer for the nation’s leaders that you “may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” (2 Timothy 2:2).
Struggling with fear, you will be overwhelmed by it, allowing it to control your every decision and move. Choosing not to deal with it can leave you with scars. We have a promise that “God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
One of the best ways to rid yourself of the fear that is plaguing you is to turn to Scripture. All the lives in it help us to see that the Lord is sovereign in all situations. Keep trusting the Lord at all times. Amen.
when it comes to the New Testament, many of us are familiar with it. We have an “acquaintance” kind of relationship with this ancient collection of twenty-seven books. But the real question is… do we know and understand the New Testament?

We have a God who knows 'why'. He does not want His children to bear the burden of having to understand what HE is doing.
We must focus on what He has asked US to do, leaving the analysis and supposing muffled in the contentment and satisfaction of being in His will.
